The Mastercraft's are 2 ply construction, no? Probably a decent enough tire for the price... I'd say the Nitto's would be a better tire over all though... Have you considered the Toyo MT? Those would be my choice if going with an MT...

I don't have experience with those 2, but I have Nitto Terra Grapplers on my Land Rover Disco2 and they have been awesome. It's a daily driver and they handle great, road noise is next to nothing, and they handle off-road stuff with ease. I've been very happy with them. I've them on for about 2.5 yrs and they still look new.

In fact, I'll put them on my truck when it's time to buy new tires, and I'll use them again on the Land Rover.

The Mud Grapplers performance is great. But, they wear quickly and are extremely loud on pavement. Most people are better off with the Trail Grapplers or Toyo MT. Both offer offroad performance close to the Mud Grappler but with much longer tread life and a very quiet ride on pavement.

Bout pulled the trigger on the mud grapplers, but after reading tons of reviews on their ****** tread life I went with the trail grapps.

I have MXT's I haven't really had much of a problem with them and they actually look pretty good. Of course they are pretty cheap compared to Nittos so i'm not sure how much of a lifespan i can expect out of them. They don't have a tread warranty, but i paid $275-$285 a tire where the nitto G2's were about $425 tire. So you can save about $400-$500 if you do go MXT.

I'm like gassers though I heard so many bad things about tread wear on some of the nittos, and my local shop just kept trying to push them on me because that's what they
sell the most of. They just finished a jeep with a lift for another customer they told me to go look at the MXT's that they put on it and I couldn't beat the price for 37's

What size are you going with? I wouldn't have thought the Toyo's would have been that much more heavy than the Nitto's...

Yep, misread, the nitto is 81 lbs
Mastercraft's are 64 lbs
35's

I'm only looking at 35's and light weight cuz I only tow my boat about a mile each way so I bought the 3:21 rear. I drive 48 miles round trip to work.

Have you considered a toyo r/t? Since you drive a lot, it's a tire for best of both worlds. A mix between the a/t and m/t. I've had toyo m/t's in the past and I'm completely happy with the R/t's. Aggressive tire but quiet on the road as well.

nitto mud grapplers are extremely loud. i would suggest something less aggressive unless all your driving is primarily off road or local streets. long highway runs are miserablel. been there done that lol. toyo m/t's or trail grapplers would be a better choice.

I run Nitto Mud Grapplers in 33x12.50x20 and I would agree they are very loud. The loudest "mud grip" tire I've ever run actually. Once I'm ready for an upgrade to 35's, I plan on going with the Trail Grapplers instead.
