I just dumped my Moroso catch can for the first time since the install about 1500 miles ago, had about one ounce of fluid in it. What you have to realize is this isn't just oil that fills this, it's oil & fuel vapors and some water condensation. Depending on the ratio of each and the temps it can appear anywhere from milky to just oil but if you look closer you'll see it's not. The oil viscosity should make no difference in the amount in the can. Luckily my Moroso has a built in 90 degree drain which i just hang a water bottle on and open it up. When done i can easily see what's there.

I watched a YouTube video, it looks pretty simple to me. Can you send me a link to what you bought? Also why can’t a guy just cut the existing hose and plumb it in? If not, what size hose and how long were they that you purchased?
Thx

I hear yeah but sometimes I can't pay the much higher difference for some products.
These catch cans just seem to be way overpriced , well some of them.
I just haft to watch my money sometimes..lol :)

I like supporting USA companies as well, but paying twice as much is a little steep. I routinely pay more for things local trying to support local business even though there’s a sales tax and it’s a bit more, 10, 20 even 30%, but when you start talking doubling for something this basic I don’t know how fair the domestic companies are.

Thx....Were the hose cut the correct length and of decent quality?

Quality of hose is excellent, thick rubber fuel line type hose
actually cut the one from pcv valve to fit correctly how i wanted it to look. No instructions is the only caveat but pretty easy to figure out mount

Yeah mine has been that color, think its just because of the cold temps.

I just wonder if the thinner oil fills up the CC faster than a thicker oil ?

Mine is dark and looks like i could put right back into oil filler. My friends (we installed same day) looks all nasty and yellowed, we did in cold temps but i use conventional oil he uses synthetic.
So not sure what the difference is and why but like i said mine looks like new oil. i put mine on my truck same day as him and he had 16k miles i had 1200 miles on mine.
now i have 3300 miles and i have about 1"-1.5" of oil in my catch can. Changing oil saturday.

Sometimes mine looks like I can just pour it back in as well , but in the winter months especially during really cold temps mine gets a bit mucky , but never as milky looking as that photo above .

I've got over 35k on my OCC , I dumped it a few days ago and the oil looked new . I run Synthetic oil .

This is the photo from above .

This is one of mine .

I kinda skipped to the end of this thread, so I’m not sure if it has been covered. I have seen a few different brackets for the occ. Does it matter what elevation the actual can sits? I have seen lower closer brackets as well as some higher up with a longer bracket. I like the taller brackets because they seem easier to empty on a regular basis.

doesnt really matter too much...

you can save like $20 by buying an amazon one but i got an ebay one for like $63 with free shipping that came with the bracket and all and its a pretty nice unit, well made. i did change the hoses because the ones that come with kits are flimsy and kink easily. but i figured not having to build a bracket or mount to anywhere else and not having to ad any filter or mist catching properties to one off amazon was worth my extra $20.

correction $61:

What hose did you end up running with? Did you cut off the elbow on your oem hose, like some show to do?
