Today it was 80 with 90+% humidity and on the highway for 20 mins this was my trans temp. Completely unloaded, just me in the truck. 65RFE, Redline C+, and MH trans pan. This is the coolest running transmission I've had in a vehicle.
Yep he has the 45RFE pan on his 65RFE Xsmn , it's 1.5- 2 qt extra capacity IfIs your mag hy pan also extra capacity ?
Yeah it's about 2 quarts over the stock pan. I'm sure that helps with temps...Is your mag hy pan also extra capacity ?

Thanks for the answer. Waiting for them to come out with a pan for the 8 speed. Doesn't look likely though.
There are a couple of aluminum pans for the ZF 8 speed. The problem with the 8 speed is the thermal management system keeps the trans temps at around 190* at all times. Unless that can be bypassed, no matter what you do it will always hover around 190...
Well these temps are not normal but the results of pulling about 7,000 lbs of trailer and Tractor up a 3-6% grade for about 20 miles on a 45 mile total trip , had about 10 miles of flat land driving prior to hitting the uphill climbs .... BRUTAL switchbacks ! Near stop & go the turns are so tight .
Once on top of the mountain xsmn temp quickly cooled to about 150 and engine oil down to 210.
I have the Mag-Hyteck RFE45 pan on my 6 speed RFE65 xsmn with 3.55 Differentials . Running Redline C+ ATF+4 fluid .
This is the first time I've seen this fluid above 150° , and the first time I've seen my engine oil over 220°

That 73° was a bit skewed as it was morning and I was at about 5,000 feet above sea level [emoji1303]It hit a 100 degrees here in Jersey yesterday, so I am a bit envious of that 73 degrees you are showing. Do you think a higher temp would have raised your displayed temps ? Good numbers btw.
