I have a 2012 1500 4x4 Laramie. 125,000 on it. For about a month I have a even pitched whine from the back. Thought it may be a wheel bearing and changed out both. Still there. It starts at 30 and peaks at 45mph. Goes away at about 55mph. Seems to be most pronounced slowing to a stop below 30 mph. Thoughts? Pinion bearing? No grinding or growling going on.

It could be a number of things going on inside the diff to cause wine, I.e. crush washer not set to correct depth threshold, pinion gear, ring gear, bearings, etc. Your best bet is to pop off cover and inspect the internals, any more then that, you’ll need to take it to a axel shop for proper settings or repair if you can’t do it yourself witch is difficult anyway.
