I just got the Aux Button Kit from 4th Gen Electronics,
https://www.4thgenramelectronics.com/product-page/2013-2018-ram-auxiliary-button-kit

And I have to mount the relay box. I know the stock location is on the fire wall through the sheet metal but I can’t bring myself to screw into my brand new sheet metal.

Where is a good alternate location to mount the box? I was thinking on the side or top of the PDC, but I am definitely open to suggestions and tips on how to do this.

Hopefully I’ll get it mounted early this week, like Monday or Tuesday. :)

Perhaps double sided tape would work? I have the same kit, but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

I used the "stock" location you are referring to similar to KustomBlackG, it actually was quite a pita really. I think installing it on the front of the Fuse Box might work though?

Some people have added a small bracket and mounted to the battery tray, me personally had no problem with some self tappers into the firewall

Did you do anything to help prevent future corrosion?

What about wiring on the back side at that point, any wire behind the firewall?

For mine the firewall was tucked back a bit to far for me.
End of the battery tray has more room.
I just put a small fuse block there. Maybe the relay box might fit.

No wiring behind it and I used a dab of clear silicon, on the threads. No salt on the roads down here so not much of a concern for me.

It's a double wall were they recommend to install it so your not really going through the fire wall

I also sealed the screws and put some touch up paint on a spot where one screw wandered a bit before catching before final mounting.

So I was looking in the engine compartment and was thinking of mounting the relay box to this bracket directly in front of the pdc. It is a steel bracket with 3 bolts holding it in and nothing mounted to it.

Is there any reason not to mount the relay box to it? I’d obviously have to drill into it.

That spot should work. I've got power steering & washer fluid tanks mounted to that bracket.

It’s a great location, that’s where I mounted my power distribution box for my AEV switches
