Seatbelt question

I have a 2017 Ram 2500. I just noticed the front passanger seat is no longer alerting if the seatbelt is not being used. I am almost certain that if a person sat on the seat and did not buckle the truck would alert you(like every other vehicle I have ever seen). I had the dealership look at it and the tech said that vehicle is not equipped with a seatbelt alert or passanger occupancy sensor. That just doesn't seem to be normal to me. So my question to anyone with a 2017 Ram 2500 is will your truck alert you if you have a front passanger and they do not buckle?

I have 2017, 1500 and it definitely alerts me if there is a passenger and they are not wearing their seatbelt.

I've used the procedure with fastening and unfastened the seat belt to disable mine. The light on the dash comes on but no chime.

Fasten and unfasten the drivers seat belt three times with the ignition on door closed and it will disable the chime.

^ I did the same thing. Did you buy the truck used? If so maybe someone did this? I am pretty sure it is standard now on all the rams.

Seems like the factory slipped up and this truck didnt get the sensor put in on the assembly line...(?)
Or it might be a used truck(???), and somebody might have removed the sensor...? Dosent make sense why its not there.
Maybe it was a bad sensor and it got removed...??? Guess we wont know until the OP clears up some more details in here.
I mean, he DID say "no longer chimes" in his post...??? Did it ever chime in the past and now it dosent...? Who knows, guess we wait.

I have to agree with others here, this is a safety feature, i dont know why it wouldnt have come with the truck.

Thank you for all the responses. I did buy the truck new in 2017. The truck now has 27000 miles on it. I am almost positive the truck did chime, and the instrument cluster displayed seatbelt warning. I asked my family if anyone else could remember if the truck would alert and they say it did.
I dont understand why the dealership I trust would tell me otherwise.

Well I have a 2018 2500 Tradesman, The Passenger seat does NOT chime or Flash the seat-belt light with someone in it and the seat-belt unbuckled. Only my drivers seat will cause the chime or seat-belt light while unbuckled.

I verified this earlier today.

I checked your owners manuals and you should hear a chime when the passenger seat belt is not buckled while someone is sitting in the seat as long as your vehicle is equipped BeltAlert. If this feature has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Reminder Light will turn on and remain on until the driver and outboard front seat passenger seat belts are buckled. If you feel that this function is not operating correctly, we suggest working with your dealers to have this addressed.
