^This.

People think the Sports had 3.92 or 4.10 gears, a better exhaust, different tuning, a lift...whatever.

And they're all wrong! :flipthebird:

what was all different about the sport models? all i have noticed is better headlights, a different bumper cover and grill, and sport badging. i also think my yellow color was only available on sports. websites say that the sport has like 10 more hp but i have no idea...

edit: thanks for the link merc!

All Sports had body color front and rear facisas, fog lights, special badging, body color tail lights as well.
99+ Sports had a plastic bumper cover, different grille, and headlights. Solar Yellow was introduced in 99 for Sport models only, the thought was to push younger buyers into Ram trucks.

Claims of different exhausts and other performance stuff is all hogwash. YES, you could get 3.92s with a Sport, but only if it was optioned. Same with the LSD.

ALL Sports had the same options as SLT models.

Thats it thats all, for my year it was painted to match bumpers and decals.

Forgot about the taillights, thanks DD94.

DD94 is 100% right I had to order the 3.92 and the lsd, put on a better exhaust system and added the Mopar performance pcm from day one. This is how/what a Sport should have come with off the line in my op. The only 1500's to have a factory lift was the ORE.

Edit; I was looking at my window sticker. Forgot about the fog lights they were also part of the sport package. Also see that the Lsd cost $325 and no charge for the 3.92 ratio, that means it was in one of my packages.

may i ask why you would want to swap out 3.55 for 4.10 on a 2wd truck?

I know 4x4 guys run bigger tires, so they re-gear

on a 2wd i would think 3.55 would be perfect ratio, unless your racing? :favorites13:

410s will do you just fine in that 2wd lol I would not recommend going higher.....I have 4.56 in mine but it's got 35s and a lift lol.

I wouldn't put them in a 2wd tho
