Swaping 5.9LA to 2001Dodge5.2L

Hi guys

Just wandering if anybody has swapped a 5.9LA from a 84 dodge truck into a 2001 dodge 1500 with a 5.2L.
I plan on using the fuel injection from the 2001

Wont work.. I believe the balancing are different and I know the heads are different therefore the intake is different.. basically the magnum engine has vertical mounting for the intake and that means the heads are drilled different If you were staying with the carb it would be possible to make it work but none of the electronics would work.. besides the magnums are a full roller motor and are better for any use i can imagine.

Short answer: too much work to be worthwhile. If you need a new engine, get a Magnum.

It can be done but it will not be a bolt in job, there will be stuff to figure out that is not of the norm.

You might be able to work this intake into play, with mods to hold the fuel rails and such. You would have to use the Mopar 4bbl to 2bbl adapter for the TB. This is a mid to high rpm intake.

You will have to use the flex plate for the 5.9 magnum for balance reasons.

Edit: You can also have the LA heads drilled to match the Magnum intake style bolts.
