So you are not surprised, should you order the Perma Cool filter relocation kit for the stock filter, the M22 x 1.5 nipple used is machined from 1/2" ID thick walled steel tubing. One end is threaded for M22 x 1.5, and the other is turned down a bit, and threaded for 3/4-16. Perma Cool used this approach because the remote filter mount itself is threaded to accept a 3/4-16 nipple.
The base diameter is machined wide enough such that any stock (M22) filter can be used and seals perfectly, but if you replace the combination nipple with a straight 3/4-16 nipple, any standard filter threaded for that opening will also seal perfectly.

So by this information, we would need two cans for 6.34 quarts for ( optimum product performance)?

IT says “treats up to” 1.5 gal. I would just use one bottle and do a UOA and cut open your oil filter

Cheapest relocation kit I could find on Summit for m22x1.5 for both engine and filter is this, thats on the steep side :(

https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/ctr-22-829/overview/

they where plenty more for 3/4-16" oil filters and m22x1.5 engine side treads. And can't find only the relocatet oil filter tread thingy mentioned earlier...

And no kits on ebay, Amazon sucks for us outside USA

Maby I just suck at seaching and need the part numbers :(

The Perma-cool kit mentioned here was hard to find on Summit, hade to google my way in to that one, but the info is not good on what's included https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/prm-70988/overview/

Guys in the cold states set JSVT3 as ease and let him know the weight redline you are running and why. H395 weigh in, you went almost full blown 0w40 PUP right? Now 5w30 redline? And JSVT3 may not realize the reason you used 0w40 had nothing to do with the winter rating but rather the formula of that particular brand. What weight redline would you run living in the beautiful state of PA.

Summit sells the Perma-Cool filter relocation kit p/n 70988 for just under $80. This kit relocates the stock filter using M22 x 1.5 at both the engine and remote locations. It's the kit I have installed. Agree that Summit doesn't include much information. Go to the Perma-Cool corporate site directly. All the information you need is there.

Yeah I ran 7qts of PUP 0w40 and 1qt PUP 5w30 at one point and had no problems with MDS or anything else. However it was not winter here while I was running that combo. Currently running Redline 5w30 and had one 25* cold start(posted the video of this) after sitting for 6 days and it was very quiet and smooth. Redline 0w30 did fine last winter, I have no doubt their 5w30 will be fine as well.

Every guy at my work, literally every one, drives a truck and runs their own brand of 5w30. We get awful wind chills being we ar in the open. Plenty of days were we ar in the negatives and 5w30 works fine for everyone. 2 guys with diesel are running 15w40 year round.

I also think 5w30 will preform flawlessly in all the cold states in the lower 48

Its a good thing inanimate objects are not affected by wind chills. Well, sort of. The rate at which they cool will be faster on a cold and windy day, but the actual temp of the oil or anything else on/in the car will not go below ambient temperature.

Think about it this way. Put a pot of water outside when it’s 32° one with no wind and one with a fan on it what do you think the results will be tempeture wise?

Identical

And be less water in the wind. Typically cold air is dryer than warm so the fan would accelerate evaperation.

All this temperature talk- time to bring back an oldy but a goody for new guys, esters will out perform other base oils in cold and high temps. Better flow in cold, and ridiculously better performance in heat. Polyol esters the type in Redline Oil. From link,

Polyol esters can extend the high temperature operating range of a lubricant by as much as 50 – 100°C due to their superior stability and low volatility. They are also renowned for their film strength and increased lubricity which is useful in reducing energy consumption in many applications. The only downside of polyol esters compared to diesters is their higher price tag, generally 20 – 70+% higher on a wholesale basis.

...For example, esters have been used exclusively in jet engine lubricants worldwide for over 50 years due to their unique combination of low temperature flowability with clean high temperature operation. ...

I recommend the 5 weights over the 0 weights in Redline, look at what you loose in the triangle if you opt for 0 winter rating. Think it doesn't matter, ask h395. Only 5w30 killed his tick even when compared to 0 weight redline. Also, remember this oil has a ton of additives that give you protection on dry starts. The true oil guys at Bob's suggest hths and good flow of 30 weight is their theory of what would be good against tick, Redline 0w30 hths 3.2 versus Redline 5w30 hths 3.7. That is a huge difference for the same weight oil with the only difference is winter rating. Remember, if you choose redline, it already works better in cold then their mineral oil counterparts, so consider using 5w30 even in cold places.

Redline 5w30 is in a league of it's own even against other redline weights and rating.
