Will roll 8k on this oil this week so it looks like its time to send Nick a p.m. and get Blackstone to send me a test kit.
Should be able to pull in my shop to change it as well, man thats a nice feeling to be allmost all moved in and done.

Think I am going with 4 quarts of 10w30 and 3 quarts of 5w30 Redline and a Royal Purple filter 20-820.
I am also going to get a filter magnet and some RL fuel cleaner.
Good Lord , that's exactly what I'm doing right Now !!! Less the filter magnet ...but I want one SOOOO bad !

Well imho .. obviously I think you sir are making a fantastic decision on oil type , oil wt , filter type and fuel system cleaner / upper cylinder lubricant ... And I'm jelous of your filter mag ....
Screw it I'm ordering a filter mag now !

Good article .
The beging paragraphs of this artical is mostly why I've chosen to change my 10 year OAT formulated coolant at 5 years of service ...
Sir , you should post this in Hemi395's thread on this subject .

Just got back from this pesky NYC trip with the fam for a couple days, so it really cut into my forum time lol. I will definitely post it over there when I get the chance to read the thread. For the record, I'd never run any liquid for 10 years in any vehicle. Five yrs is my personal max on any liquid., and that's really pushing it imo.

I agree , when I flush and change my coolant this summer it will be just shy of 5 years from my build date ...5 years imo is pushing it on any fluid ....

I agree 5 years is about as long as I'd want any fluid in my truck no matter how long its supposed to be good for.

Hot pic first then cold pic. (Dont know why the switch places when I upload them)

Taking into consideration what motor city mechanic said about the colors permanently changing you can see the cold I am definitely reddish orange. hot it was most definitely a shade of purple. No as purple as new coolant... but in person it seem more purple than the pic shows.

In yours they both look the same or very close to the same to me ... In my wife's 16 Challenger's case earlier today , the coolant colors were more different in terms of cold Orange and HOT Purple

First pic is cold at about 40°f

Second pic is after 3ea heat cycles of 217°f after the t-stat opened and closed .

You are right. But i think it also makes a difference with the amount of fluid that you are looking through with the light. Your tank is huge so it will show color a lot better than my small tank.

I do think it was possible however they mixed the Fiat orange with the Chrysler purple. I have no evidence of anything floating or crystallizing in my coolant there’s no ammonia smell at all.

Im still calling tomorrow to confirm

I flushed my brake fluid this summer. Had the wife pump the brakes while I cracked the bleeder at each wheel. Topped the master cylinder off after each wheel. Took about 30 mins and it was amazing how dark the brake fluid was that came out after 4.5 years.

My mystery coolant is the last factory fluid I need to replace.

I plan to change my brake fluid this summer as well as my coolant ...I'll be pouring in Redline brake fluid. Once I do that every fluid in my truck will bare the REDLINE name [emoji16][emoji16]

To my knowledge Redline doesn't make coolant , they do have a waterwetter coolant additive though [emoji44]

So would you guys that are using RMI suggest using that or Water Wetter? Amsoil makes a coolant boost that's supposed to be pretty good as well.
