I don't do it midway because I can't put a catch can on my 6.4. I don't want that PEA in my oil. That is some strong ****.

With less than 1 PPM of fuel in your oil i cant imagine it would hurt enough to make a noticeable difference in a UOA

Just my guess though

I'll probably be changing my plugs this summer . I'll be running a scope down when plugs are removed , hopefully I'll see the benefits of the OCC and the S-1 fuel treatment at that time . I know my throttle body and as far as I can see below with a light and inspection mirror is absolutely spotless ( actually shiney clean ) at 50 k .

I'd say if it's a daily driver or a daily driver you drive a lot ( keeping everything lubed ) and moving you'd probably be fine ;however , if your truck sits for days or weeks at a time ???.
PEA is some stout stuff , maybe not a good idea to have it on surfaces up top with little oil for long periods .
If you had or could have an OCC it shouldn't matter .

Well that's my .02

You may very well be right, but I know I smell it when I change my oil. PI has a very distinctive smell. If done midway, I'm sure it burns off like water, but how much does it contribute to lubricity decay along the way? Why's the sky blue? Nobody knows. haha

Funny you say that ( about the fuel smell ) during an oil drain .
I actually do smell my oil for the scent of fuel when I drain it . Thought I was the only one ... I never smell fuel or the S-1 Treatment , it must be there but not strong enough for me to smell.

Now when I smell my OCC dumps it is strong with fuel and S-1 , so strong infact I've tried to light it with a lighter before [emoji44][emoji44]no joke . I was a bit surprised when it would not ignite .

I loved working on the Hercs and I had a nice acreage outside of Cabot with a great shop. I was a single SSgt at the time and had a blast. Racing my Ducati 996, had a brand new Dakota R/T as a toy and an Xtreme Blazer as my daily (remember those? Lol). Worked hard, played harder.

Then 9/11 happened. We were first to hit the ground over there. I spent 450+ days of my last two years stationed at LRAFB in the desert. Those were the bare base days and things were ugly. I had had enough and volunteered for a remote to Korea. 5 more bases and several trips to the desert and other places since then.

Cannot wait for the wife to retire! Between us, we've spent over 6 yrs in Iraq and the 'Stans. Its time. C'mon June '19!!

Damn, now I know what's wrong with you guys. You smell new oil, old oil, you're catch cans, fuel treatment. Petroleum products are eating you're brains. [emoji3]
