Played outside with friends till it was dark, and if you lived in town, you knew everybody on the block. The worst was when you were trouble, and Mom would say "wait till your Father gets home" ,lol. We also wrecked more muscle cars then any other generation,
HECK, you screw up outside? Neighbor whoop yer a z z and escort U home. Momma then whoop yer a z z and U hear that familiar jingle, "Wait till yer Daddy gets home?" He gets home, whooped again. So U got 3 whooping's for 1 infraction. Kids these days be calling CPS, lol.

The teachers/principle had rulers that hurt to,lol. If you got in trouble at school,it wasn't the teachers fault,it was your fault, and when the school told your parents you were in trouble again

Yeah, but where I went to school corporal punishment was not legal. Besides, all it took was a phone call to the house, after that, well U know.

I grew up in a farming community, and felt the principles ruler from elementary to juniour high more then once, lol. Had one teacher do it once in high school, when i was sound asleep in his class, and he never did it again,as by then i was past taking his B.S,lol. It was harvest time, and i'd been on the combine till 2:00 in the morning for several days before i fell asleep in class, and when the old man found out about it,he came into town and had a chat with both the principle and teacher about it,and got me off the hook,as the teacher was whining about his ****** nose, lol

Just use the E-brake. Problem solved. You’re welcome no applause needed . Lol. You know a lot of vehicles didn’t have park in the past.

Funny you bring this up....I had my truck in for service awhile back...service writer told me theres this shift interlock recall also(it is in the colum also)...I said I know....truck is 13 years old with over 130k at the time.if it ain't happened by now I'm guessing it ain't gonna happen in my eyes..do not mess with it,made him write it on the ticket in big a** letters..well I get the truck back at the end of the day and they changed out the part....on the way home the friggin horn goes off by itself...had to pull over and disconnect the plugs at the horns(coincidence on that happening???)
...so irritating.knew sumthing would happen if they messed with it...took it back the next day hasn't happened since.

If they can't get the part, I would suggest taking the pin out and leave it hanging off the wires. This pin is what prevents you from taking the shifter out of park until you step on the brakes. If you take the pin out of the column and step on the brake pedal with the ignition on, you'll see it retract. As long as you make sure the transmission is in park every time you get in or out of the cab, nothing will ever happen. Kind of like all the older vehicles where the driver was expected to have common sense.
The real worry is that if that plastic pin breaks while the transmission is in park, you will not be able to get it out of park and will be stuck. The plastic got brittle with age and tends to break, especially when you park on a grade. Good luck trying to get the piece of plastic pin out of the metal hole on the side of the road. On my '09, I just unbolted the pin and zip tied it to the column. I left the wires connected so there were no warning lights.

Oh hell, we had Nuns ! After that, even drill sergeant’s were wimps in comparison.
