Besides headhunter and Goliath_ram_41s, anyone know of anyone with a huge lift on their 4th gen 1500?

Headhunter- 19" Lift, 46" Tires

Goliath- 20" Lift, 41" Tires, SAS

idk what it is, but there's something i just dont like about the goliath build

I think I know, its a base model truck and the added accessories like the over priced grill, and the non painted flares, along with the custom lift... Probably cost more than the truck itself. Needs some monster and famous stickers for sure.

Either way, I'd prefer it over that green thing.
(The looks, not the mods)
IMO

i think its more that its just too much lift for the body and tires. body looks too small like that and the tires look too small for the lift.

Id definitely take the green thing over it

The green one couldn't flex 1" though lol. Tires are way too big.. Even though it's just for looks... And a 2wd.. It should at least "appear" capable.

I appreciate the Goliath build more than the Headhunter.

Yea, Headhunter has more accessories, more money put into it, and looks better.
But it's easy to build a truck with over 50 sponsors.
Building a truck with your own hard earned money with no help from anyone else is more satisfying to me.

That goliath build is a much more capable truck for the purpose of offroad. I always had a thing for An SAS swap!

Can you imagine jacking those bad boys up and taking off one of the tires to perform maintenance and then lifting the tire back up a few inches to put it back on. I don't think my bad back could handle lifting those 41s and 46s. It hurts just to even think about it

Just get a hd lol. Same stuff but already all done
If we’re talking the cheaper route yeah of course. I can go buy a cheap hd and beat the crap out of it.

But he would have an added benefit for a lot of off-road situations with the fact his wheelbase would be shorter so his approach and departure angles would be beneficial to an hd which is a long truck.

Personally I’d just beef up the ifs and it’d be likely good enough for most situations he encounters.

And you’re right he could go buy an older 4th gen HD, hacksaw the bumpers off and drive it over rocks for cheaper than his SAS swap alone might cost him. But some guys love fabbing stuff and building rigs so I can’t hate on that if he has the skills and/or money to get that done.

Had one (2 actually) hence the username. Really wish I had kept the 2010...... she was deleted and ran like a top with the clean tune I had.

The main push to SAS my truck 4 years ago (this is an old thread) was to have the 8 speed and a shorter wheelbase (4th Gen 1500 has the same wb as the 3rd Gen HD).
Fast forward to now and you can get the beloved 8speed but my truck is paid for. Truth be told, I don’t take this pavement princess off the blacktop nearly as much as I’d like, she’s been rendered to Dad’s taxi service and daily commuter.

now if I could just convince the CFO on that new PW............

I didn’t look at date lol. Yep I want a new one with 8spd too. My buddy is fixing to sas his avalanche. Gonna be a fun project. I call my hd basically a heavy half ton lol. Cclb with the 5.7. But the axles and suspension is what I’m after.
