Anyone willing to post oil, tranny, and coolant temps both loaded and unloaded with 6.4? Should I start a new thread? Kinda want to see what everyone's temps have been running.

When pulling my 8000 lb travel trailer mine temps run about 206-220 coolant, 165-167 tranny, 210-230 oil. Unloaded it depends on how far I drive. A long drive will put temps in the same range as when hauling my trailer.

Its possible that the hub did not unlock. That will usually make it pop but more than once when turning

It isn't a hub that locks and unlocks. It is a collar that slides to connect 2 shafts together. Either way what he described sounds more like a transfer case issue than the front axle. Pre 2013.5 the front axles didn't even have disconnects.

Picked up my soon to be mini 6.4 hemi. Lol. Its a 2003 yamaha g22. New paint, lift, tires, rims, and custom seat covers.Going to put 6.4 hemi badges on the sides and switch out the yamaha badge on the front with a ram badge. Notice its big brother in the background.

So I am just a few miles away from 1,000 Miles on the new truck and want to take it in for an oil change and get the break in oil out of there. I have been told that it doesnt need it from a few people because the machining process durring manufacturing is much better than the old days and I would be wasting my money! I have also been told to forget all that crap and change it out, because its better to be safe than sorry.

Any opinions on this issue??

Also, how many miles do I need to drive before I can really step on the little pedal on the right? I have been kind of pussyfooting this thing the whole time???. Itching to stretch it out a little.

KTM,

at 1000 miles you should be fine to really drop the hammer on that beast. I know its kind of apples to oranges as far a platform a bit, however when I first got my 12' express... the manual said to " be easy " on the truck for the first 600 miles. Then after that I began to ROMP ON IT !!!!!.

it's really a personal opinion I think, but if it makes you happy to change it out now for your own piece of mind, then go ahead. the only thing its gonna hurt is your wallet a little lol.

Yeah, I have been keeping it under 3k rpm for the most part, every now and then 3,500 but thats it.

I am fortunate to have my truck payment and repairs (wear and tear) covered by my company!! Sweet GIG!!

I'm weird, but I'd change it. Anyone know the Mobil 1 extended performance oil filter number for the 6.4? M1-113?

Company pays for my truck too. It's nice. That color is the same as mine. Granite Crystal Metallic.

Nice looking truck until I get to the fuelly tag at the bottom, tried to convince myself I should go 2500 instead but the 90 miles a day would kill my wallet. If they made a MegaCab Outdoorsman it would have been an even harder decision and prob ended up with a 2500.
