Wow, you got better mileage towing at 65-80 mph than most here or those on Fuelly.com do unloaded doing only 70 mph.

That is not my standard in town mileage. That was all highway getting to speed and setting the cruise control. In my mind best case for fuel mileage for me.

My usually fuel mileage is between 13 to 14 with normal running around. If I drive just to work I only get about 10mpg since it is only 3 miles at 20mph.

I'm not sure if it helps but I also have a topper (Cap) on the bed.

I just noticed a small oil spot on my garage floor. It's coming from the filter, and I already had that recall done.

Hi I'm new here have read first 242 pages and wanted to say hello. I ordered a new truck in April and received it in June. It is a 2015 3500 drw 6.4 4x4, Western Brown, Bighorn, Luxury group, backup camera, w/4.10's, I added an ARE tonneau cover w/sportwing, and Tough Country wheel to wheel running boards. I love this truck. Lots of good info here.

Ended up being a torn gasket. Oil wasn't even low enough to register, but I got a free undercarriage wash out of it.

My New upgrades

Using instructions from this forum and a little time to look for parts, I upgraded my instrument cluster from 3.5 to 7" inch, and upgraded to from Uconnect 5.0 to the RA4N system. Prob spent a little too much for a couple of the parts but, what the heck, it looks good!

One added benefit to the RA4 is much better speech recognition for telephone bluetooth. And the radio sound seems to be better to these old ears. Now my ST is looking more like a Bighorn.

There is a + - switch on the shift lever of my 2500 . Can anyone give an example of when to use this or what is its purpose ? Have looked around and can't find a clear answer

I believe it's designed mainly for towing. So let's say you keep bouncing from 5th and 6th gear. You can select 5th gear so it will only go up to 5th. Plus it turns off mds if you don't want to drive in tow/haul mode while driving empty.

Pretty much. So whatever gear you choose you get first gear through the chosen gear

It can also be help full for slowing the truck down in town and as stated on grades.. I have a long steep grade near me and when ever coming down it with cruise set at 74 I lock out 4th and it holds it at my desired speed. And I use it in town set to 3rd or fourth so it's not shifting all the way to 6th and mds doesn't activate.

I do pretty much the same. I set the manual shift mode button to the desired gear and go with that until I hit the freeway, then shift all the way up to 6th or Full Auto depending on the freeway posted limit. 6th for up to 55, Full Auto above that speed.

I don't use full auto around town ... ever
