Throttle body spacer, yay or nay ?

I'm not trying to buy things just to say that I have them. If this does nothing then I will move it. I was told that it will make the motor more efficient, is that not true ?

Efficient in making a cute little whistle sound but that's about it. Only carbed and early TBI engines can benefit from a spacer like that
