this is kinda hard to explain so bare with me please. ive noticed lately when I drive and have my truck in cruise control on flat roads its fine. but when I come up on a hill, even a slight one, for half a second my throttle like jumps up 400 rpm, then it goes back down to normal rpm before it steadily increases rpm to go up the hill. im pretty confident though that its not the transmission that's causing the problem. when in gear select itll do this jump while still in the same gear, also this jump in rpm can be felt at the wheels ever so slightly so I don't think its slipping. any info helps

mines a 5 speed. ive had it for 2.5 years but its only recently started doing it. but that though has crossed my mind as well that it could have been the mds turning off.

My 11 sport with 5 speed never did this. I doubt it is the MDS, dut you can disable the MDS to eliminate that suspicion.

I have a similar occurance with my 11 5 speed. Do you have any mods? Because I have a suspicion it's my CAI and exhaust causing it.

Sounds like the torque converter is unlocking for those few seconds then re locking.

i thought the converter only locks in its highest gear and nothing below it. but I do have some mods. only ones worth noting are clutch fan delete, cai, and tuner. as for mds it does do this even when I have mds turned off. cai was my last mod but this rev issue didn't start till a bit after I installed it. however it just occurred to me. when I switch between tunes like from my hemifever tune to the canned diablo tune to whatever and what not, it wont jump as often for a bit. but after a few days itll act up again. so I am noticing it acting almost normal but only for a few days if I switch out tunes

I don't know, just throwing this out there, could it be VVT or computer adjusting you're timing ?

Its the torque converter. It can lock in any gear to maintain power. If its a steep hill dropping a gear and locking the torque converter is normal to maintain speed.
