Have had a pop up camper that we have towed all over the US with our 2014 1500 5.7 4x4 crew and a expedition we had previously. Traded in the 1500 for a granite crystal 2500 6.4 crew 4x4... it was a tuff decision we loved the 1500 but wanted a bigger camper nothing huge but probably 7k lbs when loaded, I am sure the 1500 would tow it but I wanted a truck that looked like a truck and had more payload capability. Then Michael hit and I used the truck to haul goods down to the residents in the affected areas also had a skid stear trailer in tow heading to the saint joe beach area with the hopes of recovering a Chevy 1500 that we left down there before the storm. Long story short the truck towed that trailer great and hauled all the water and food with no issues my 1500 would have struggled some, Ended up leaving the Chevy down there it had been completely under water and wasn’t worth bringing back. We did recover our 22 foot boat that was sitting in the middle of a road back on its trailer and a travel trailer that will needs to be gutted now. Anyway wish I had chosen a different name back when I got the 1500 and signed up. Already added a camper shell to the 2500.m, want to add a grill guard , can’t wait for the Firestone’s to need to be replaced. Probably will not lift it but want to get a little bigger tires under the truck.
Hope the 2500 becomes part of our family like the 1500 did.
Thanks for all the info you guys post here I have read a lot of the threads just haven’t posted much.

I remember going from an f-150 to my new 2016 2500 1.5 years ago. The difference in stability and overall comfort while towing is immediately noticeable. You will enjoy it for sure!

Great decision going to the 2500.
I remember going from my 2008 1500 2wd to my current 2014 2500 Mega 6.4. so much more stable.
And excellent choice in color.

Great choice...i went from the 5.7 to the 6.4 as well. If you had to stick with the 5.7 you would of had to install a set of air bags because of the squat. Lots of power in the 5.7 but the suspension is just not there. Youll have no issues with the 6.4 2500. Enjoy!!

I went from a 2014 1500 5.7 to a 2015 2500 6.4. SO much better at work/towing. but they are definitely different vehicles. Miss the 1500. I think I could easily have both (if I could afford it) and not feel there was a significant redundancy.

I agree with that two different animals for sure.
