I have a 16 2500 tradesman with the black bumpers. The "paint" on my rear bumper has worn down to bare metal. Apparently these bumpers are just coated with E coating. I tried submitting a claim for it, the response I got was declined because it was not an issue with workmanship or factory defect. My truck is barely a year old and my paint is literally washing off. Is there anything I can do to get FCA to take care of this?

i dont think its just an e-coating, my 2013 tradesman has the same stuff and i just wound up painting mine, but its more than an e-coating because prepping and painting them from my truck was a bit of a pain

Line-X it. It will last forever and look better anyway. Easy to do on a painted bumper. The chrome one's take some prep work.

Get a Ranch Hand. The Mercedes that t-boned you would be in much worse shape if it had rear ended you with one of these. :naughty:

i wont argue with the strength of the ranch hand bumpers, but ill say i was impressed with how well my truck held up when i got rear ended at 40mph

Hi homebrew,

If you would like to PM our page with your VIN, contact information and dealership name I'd be happy to look into this further for you.
