Has anyone here ever done the sled pulls with a 4x4 truck? I'm interested in building my truck up for it. Seen a few guys running automatics and the duramax guys run them too but do you need a tq converter lockup switch and if so will it shift with it on? I know to be serious I'd need a built auto or a manual but to get started where should we go? I have the v10 so I do have power which makes me think I should run the 35s.
5.13
2.72 (tcase low)
35s vs 33s
47re - What gear will I be finishing in?

For a beginner thing, shift into 2nd and keep wheel speed to about 30-35. I wouldn't worry about tq converter lockup just yet but it's an option. I was about $20 away from entering my 1500 in pull once. At the time i had valvebody issues and didn't care if i blew it up and my tires were brand new. Buddy entered his weak **** 83 Chevy 3/4 with a "built" 355 (if you can call 186whp built lol) with a 5 speed. Smoked his clutch and pulled it maybe halfway down the track.

So leave it in 2nd as top gear. Good thing I have a kegger on that v10 lol. I'll need a new hitch for sure. I been reading and 35-37s will be perfect for 5.13. Truck still has no speedo.. New axle speed sensor, abs module plugged in, abs fuse good, speedo cluster good.

V10 has amazing torque and stock for stock blew my buddy's cummins out of the water. Now he can't even hang with me. Biggest improvement to the v10 was the tuner....especially removing torque management lol
