Truck sounds like i have offroad tires

2017 5.7L 4wd 140k miles. Just recently my truck started sounding like I have large off road tires on (humming type of noise). A couple weeks ago the noise started at 55 mph, now worse and starting at 25 mph. Noise goes up and down with speed, not ram. It doesn't chamge sound banking left or right. Where should I start? Tires are highway tires no odd looking Treadwell and alignment seems good.

First place I would be checking is wheel bearings

Agreed, sounds like textbook front wheel bearings. If they're noticable at 25mph, they're BAD

Wheel bearings is my 1st guess. Dont keep driving it like that. Check them out asap

Brought it in, they couldn't pin point it... no play in back or front wheels wiggling them. They "suspect" driver rear axle bearing, though they wanted to defer me to a transmission/rear end specialist... after a short drive I felt the rear end where the bearings are housed and neither side was warm. It sure sounds like a bad bearing somewhere in the back to me and I suppose sooner or later it'll be obvious which one... I do have to replace the rear pads, maybe I'll just do the rear axle bearing and seals then.

First check your front wheel bearings/hubs. They fail a lot more commonly.

If ok there, Pull the rear axles and have a look. Spin the pinion by hand ...maybe even before you remove the axles. Feel for pinion bearing roughness. Once the axles are out, inspect the bearings carefully. You can usually see spalling bearings. Often they'll goof up an axle too. Don't put in cheap parts.

Ehh, wouldn't cost much to drain the rear axle fluid and see if it's got expensive glitter.
