Does anyone know if the cutoff shield in the TYC projectors drops when the highs are switched on? Or if they are fixed and only the high beam bulb illuminates?

from my understanding of the OEM projectors, if you push the stalk forward the shield drops and the high be also comes on. If you pull the stalk back for “flash to pass” the shield stays in place and the high beam lights up. Wondering if the TYC are the same.

The TYCs have a solenoid that drops the low beam projector shield when the highs are switched on, just like factory projectors.

Sweet. I’m thinking about going back to my TYC from the Alpharex and was just curious. Think I could save money on high beam bulbs knowing that.

I switched from OEM blacked out projectors to the TYC Laramie style and gotta say the TYC are a lot better. The low beam lens is clear as opposed to the oem hazey lens which gives you a better cutoff and better light output.
And yes, the low beam drop shield works the same as OEM shield. 4CB74B54-35A9-492B-9E31-C08AC564D9F7.jpeg
