Uconnect 5.0 still no update?

This may be a silly question to some but I've never done this .

If I download the new software update onto my new thumb drive from Uconnect® Access for Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT , Jeep & Ram , then I upload it into my RA2 Radio , can I use it to update another RA2 , OR do I have to download it again ?
Once I use the thumb drive for a download is it essentially empty ?

This must seem elementary to you guys LOL .

No the update does not auto erase from the thumb drive.

My screen went black today on my RA2 ? radio is playing an FM chanel I had it on just prior . All I can do is adjust volume or turn it off & on ?? No other functions do anything ?

Any suggestions?
Is there a way to do a factory reset?

ALL is.fine with my RA2 !
I disconnected my battery while @.wk today about 8 hrs and when I reconnected and started the truck all is good ! All radio functions and back up cam ! Kinda weird , but it seems to be back to normal ...

For what it's worth , I just installed the latest update ( 5.2.20.1 ) in my RA2 Today . I had an older version 2.3.20 installed .
I have extra Compass options now 1 compass variance
2 compass calibration
I also have the Active gridlines option for the back up cam and some more headlight and door lock options , I actually have a whole extra page of options in settings and some new within ...

Glad your update is working.. I am still in the fence if I should take the update from 4/21/2014 (software version 14.08.32 05.02.20.01). I have the previous update installed but don't know the version. It seems so many people had such a problem with this update and there hasn't been an update since.

Well I just did it so time will tell , I'll post if I have any issues . Also I'm planning on installing the O/H console with the compass module in the future maybe I'll have a compass signal too before it's all said n.done

How do I know if I have the compass module? I have the O/H console with the map lights. I hate having a compass button on my UC 5.0 and no signal. this is a 2014 Express Quad cab.

Did your truck come with the RA2 5.0? And the O/H COLSOLE?

The green connector that feeds the compass module is located behind the drivers L/S A/C vent , you can verify the wires on the top side against previous post by cptwing to see if you have wires .
As far as the modual goes other than dropping the console a little I'm not sure .

Sorry buddy , I'm @ work .
The RA2 Is a factory radio with a 5.0" touchscreen , the RA1 IS THE smaller non touchscreen , the RA3 & RA4S are the 8.4" touchscreen.

Looks like you have the basic overhead console , I belive you'd be better off purchasing a console with the compass module and put yours up for sale here on the forum. You can obtain the harness if needed from Cuyler Tech with The Harness Connection here ( see prefered vendors )
Look in the classifieds here for a new O/H Console with the compass module or carparts.com or oemautoparts.com or www.allmoparparts.com, they are pretty easy to find .

If you find one with the Homelink/compass module you can install it as well. You will have to have the sales code CV2 added in order for the homelink commands to come up on your E.V.I.C and a harness from Cuyler Tech. Be very careful your compass and or Homelink module is for a 2013 or newer they are different.

I have a 14 with the RA2. I added the Homelink and it worked perfectly plug and play. All of the comands come up on the E.V.I.C like they are supposed to as well. You already have the CV2 Sales code when you have the RA2 with the overhead console. I would think a 13 and 15 would be the same but can't say for sure. Just something to keep in mind if you ever decide you would like to add it in the future.

I actually spoke to Cuyler Tech last night via PM about the harness for the compass/home link harness with the lights for the O/H console, he said no problem !
He just done this mod himself so not only could he build the harness , but he is also familiar with the install ...PM him for a price and availability.

What year is your truck? Does the compass in your radio work? Do you have a compass in your speedometer info screen?

I have a 2014 Express Quad. Compass in the radio has never worked and is not present on the speedometer either.

I have read where they have had problems with the compass not working in the 5.0. If your truck came with the 5.0 then you already have all of the wiring and the CV2 sales code and your compass should work. Some suggestions might be first to take it to the dealer if its still under warranty and have them look at it. I have the same exact truck and my compass works fine in both the radio and the speedometer. I have to leave for work so I don't have much time to type but I have delt with this with my friends truck and we got it working. I.will.shot a post when I get to work with some suggestions to.get it figured out.
