1438 miles into a 1100 mile trip and still have 2 days left then a 460 mile drive home. Change oil/filter and air filter, raised air intake in the near future perhaps?? I’m digging the new source kit mounting spot and air hose extension. We also had to do a trail repair to replace a tie rod end on my brothers rig.

Would love to have a setup like that on my truck. Doesn’t look like that tie rod end had ANYTHING left, lol

Detailed my stainless running boards, which turned into a major PITA because carriage bolts and plastic step pads dont belong together.

Of course the square part of the bolt spun in the plastic pad before the nut underneath made its way off. Resorted to slotting the bolts on top AND bottom to finally get enough torque to take them off. Buying all new ones from McMaster now and may go to lock washers instead of threadlock like Luverne used.

And I (finally) polished and coated my tailgate with 22PLE HPC. I had done the rest of the truck back in June but ran out without doing the tailgate.

Big week for my Ram.
Earlier in the week i got the itch to straightpipe the truck, so I removed the factory muffler and dual exit exhaust and clamped on a 3" downturn (pic 1). I loved the sound and the tone, however after a 70mile trip, i decided that the noise from inside the cabin was unbearable (i could barely hear my subwoofer over the exhaust!) So I took a quick trip around the corner to visit Matt over at Moe's Performance and grabbed a Carven Competitor and a 180° tstat. Installed the Carven (pic 2) and reinstalled the dual exit exhaust and I am absolutely thrilled with the way it sounds (although I need to re-center the drivers side exhaust pipe, pic 4) it sounds just as great as straightpiping, but it's not resonating off of the ground directly under the backseat, so the in-cabin noise isnt anywhere near as obnoxious.
Yesterday I installed the 180°tstat, made a rookie mistake, fixed the mistake, and now the truck is running better than ever.
And then finally, today I got the itch to make my first ever exterior modification, and debadged the doors (other than the "classic" emblems) and tailgate (pics 3, 4)

I also placed my order through GotExhaust for some 5w30 Redline, and Amazon for the oversized Royal Purple oil filter that everyone swears by, since I'm about due for my 2nd ever oil change (dash says 11% oil life remaining at 7,2xx since last oil change, 5w20PUP/royal purple oil filter)2b7740c26b203a0f618474cf1869f453.jpg

It certainly is dangerous for my pocketbook.
Especially since I have so many mods already planned for my truck.
87mm ported TB is next, then hellwig, then ARH longtubes, then diablosport/hemifever tune, and my bank account just gets lighter and lighter.

Had to take a break but this is my progress so far today. Will finish up tonight when it cools off a bit.

Already drove it with the deadening in... So much of a difference it's crazy! Just need to do the roof and I'm done.

Finally dumped the chrome grill inserts. Thanks to MaxSteel 2013 he had a set of honeycomb grill inserts. Not only did he hook me up with the sale. He installed them for me as well. Appreciate you MaxSteel 2013. I like the honeycomb inserts.
