Replaced some speakers today but first and foremost, I think I’m gonna have to send back the Pioneer sub that I had bought to go in the factory box under the rear seat. The bass with this speaker seemed to be a little cleaner but it didn’t hit near as hard as the factory one so if anything, I can get an aftermarket amp to run it off of if Crutchfield won’t take it back. Or sell it, guess it all depends what Crutchfield tells me.
But anywho, I replaced all three dash speakers with the Infinty Reference 3032’s and what a difference it made. The mids and the highs are definitely a lot more heard, and I don’t have to run my treble up maxed out now. Lol. Highly recommended.
I did use the enclosed resistors tho, that run inline with the positive wire. The paperwork wasn’t very informative on when these things need to be used so I just called up Crutchfield and they said that those protect the speaker from the bass. Sounded good to me, so I used them.
Then I replaced my rear, roof speakers with these JBL Club 750T’s and what a difference those made for back seat riders. Highly recommended but they’re kind of a bear to figure out how to get them installed. When Crutchfield says “modified fit”, they mean it. I spent several hours getting them installed, trying to figure out which supplied mount was gonna work until finally I made my own custom mounts because like the Infinity’s, these JBL’s have a resistor pack also that needs to be wired inline as well and it’s a lot bigger than the one with the infinity’s.
Custom bracket made with Dremel tool out of an aluminum shelf bracket like what you’d buy from Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Speaker mounts installed to the brackets....
Speakers installed in the cups...
Factory speakers....
The new ones...
