As I'm sure many before have had the same question I thought I might draw upon experiences and opinions. I'm looking for ideas on a list of modifications for my '14 1500 black express quad cab 4x4.

What were the first mods you completed on your trucks and were they worth it?

-performance
-lighting
-suspension......

So many choices I don't really know where to start. It's a daily driver, little over 50 km/30 miles a day mostly highway and it'll be doing light duties around the acreage hauling garbage and the do load of firewood. Spray in liner is already going in later this week. Winter time it's also going to have a quick release plow for clearing the snow from the driveway 6-7 times a year.

Let's say I have $600 budget.

So $600 options... :hmm:

Tuner = around $600
Vararam + throttle body = around $600
5100's + 3" body lift = around $600
Retro headlights = around $600

I didn't make a choice. Was a little suspension, then a **** load of money in wheels, vararam, body lift, and accessories to go with like black lugs, paint, paint gun, gap guards, so to be tuner, new step bars. ...It's not an addiction!!! :insane:

EDIT: Some of my list is setting in my garage pending install, lol. 2 1/2 weeks. :)

True performance or aesthetics?
TB, CAI, Muffler are all kind of DIY. I don't think tuners are out yet for 2014s.
Lift (or drop) depends on your time and skills and ultimate objective: knobby-mudders or street tires. A lot of guys with lifts are finding they have induced ball joint troubles.
Lighting: again depends on what you want to do and the skills you bring to the project.
:burnout:

Oh yeah, 2014 is having some issues with leveling & lifting. Plan on replacing the upper control arms from everything I've read.

I think for now I'm gonna stick with the original stance and tire/rim combination. If I lift and put mud tires I kinda think it'll take away from the point of getting the black express package. Especially after hearing about the ball joint issues guys have been having.

There's just so many options with these trucks. Might just keep it practical for now. Gonna want command start for sure and the headlights could be better.

Personally, I would...
CAI $300
180 T Stat. 30-45$$$$
Billet. Badges 130 -165$$$
Catch can $140
Exhaust 70-$350
Then tunner will. Soon be killing you warrenty, it's a must have for a pretty modded truck. My next on I will not mod so much. But I'm to deep in now to turn back. Henance the Whipple super charged .
I will have my Vararam for Sale pretty soon. Its customs painted And a 1 of a kind. You should check out the forsale section here. There are always great deals to. Be had there.

If you watch your budget you could probably do all of this for around $600. CAI, Mufflex, HIDs, and Cabin Air Filter mod. You could also get a catch can instead of HIDs and stay close to your budget.

Thanks guys. Going with a new muffler (Magnaflow 18) and some HID first. $600 doesn't go near as far north of the border. Shipping for anything big out of the States is brutal.

Muffler and tint was my first mod. Love them both... Even though I've changed my exhaust 4 times....
