My 2011 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L owner's manual recommended 89 octane. My 2015 Ram 3500 with the 6.4L owner's manual recommends 89 octane as well.
The 5.7 has always had 89 recommend and 87 required.

I do usually run 89, although I might try 87 in the next tank.

I just thought everyone might sleep better tonight now that they all know the octane rating my truck will be fueled with at the next fill up.

I will fill it up with 89 next tank and post results of fuel mileage changes, if any. my average went up slightly again the past few days but that is just what the truck says..

next tank will be a good 2-3 weeks from now.

What does any of this have to do with hauls/ loads?

Really it's like a ADD convention on this board.

Got a chance to do a first time tow of my 25 ft. Rockwood camper over the holiday weekend. About 5300 loaded, did a fine job, should be perfect when I upgrade to a 32 footer in a year or 2..

Like your setup, I'm hoping to get an rv one day soon.
Thanks, it's been a pretty good camper, but only used a few weekends and a week a year. I keep putting off retirement by buying stuff, but eventually it's gonna happen.. [emoji41]

Yep, it's going to happen I gave in two years ago on the first of June and haven't look back but I'm more busy now than I ever been. Ours plan is to get a 5th Wheel soon, the wife can't wait and I can't either. It took some times to get use to not having to go in to work but life is good.

It's only 2.5 miles from the landscape supply to my house but about half of it is uphill. I was cruising along at about 60mph going up the hill and then the car in front of me made a left turn which required me to lose almost all my speed, after that it sucked a lot of gas

Either you have air suspension or the 2800 pounds they put in my truck was a lot more than 2800 pounds...

It's stock, maybe the extra 300lbs is what really makes a difference ;) ...or the scale on the skidsteer is broken? My guy usually gives more than you pay for so I would guess I was over 2500

Looks like only a couple inches or so of movement. Pretty impressive. There's a picture floating around, I think in the dedicated 6.4 thread, of a guy with like 3500lbs of rock. Looks like 3500 just takes the rake out. I was leery of the coil springs but it sure seems like they handle load just as well as leaf springs do.

I should have measured or taken pics, but I cut down 2 live pines and loaded my truck with the firewood to bring to a friend's house. The box was loaded front to back and side to side, level with the box and I didn't even notice any squat. Maybe 1/2 an inch max. I couldn't even tell it was back there when I was driving.

I cut down a 16" diameter ash tree today. I loaded up my truck with all of the wood that I could use for fire wood and drug the branches out back to my fire pit. The truck had 1.5" of squat according to the tape measure. Not too bad for a live ash and a decent amount of wood. My 2011 1/2-ton ram would have been squatting about 4"+.

I haven't had opportunity to try this in my 2500, but here's what my ‘69 F-100 looked like with a load of seasoned wood:

I will say that i miss the easy-loading bed height on that old truck...

Lol! My dad had a 67, 352 w/ 3 on the tree. Had me go get some road base with it once. I had them dump the full bucket in. I'm sure I was on the bump stops. I could turn the wheel a 1/4 turn in either direction and still go straight down the road. Whee! That was a fun old truck.
