Depends on where and how you intend on installing and turning on/off the lights .

For instance : if the lights will be on a toggle switch it's simple .
Find a 12vdc always hot wire , install an in line fuse ( capacity spacific to the Aux lighting ) between the pwr source and switch . Use a known chassis ground or establish one yourself .

I installed bed lighting to a toggle switch I mounted just inside the bed . I used pwr 12vdc always hot wire from the 7 pin trailer disconnect, just use a meter with doors closed fob not in ignition , to find the hot wire , disassemble the plug from the backside to get pwr and ground .
