I need all A/C Gurus!!!

Just bought a 1995 ram 2500 for a work truck, and i'm in the middle of doing all my tune-ups, when I go to recharge the A/C...only to find out the accumulator and none of the lines are where they should be.

I check the belt diagram and see that mine is laid out as the no-A/C option. No Compressor.

Where the accumulator would normally be, there is a line coming through the firewall, and when the air is on, you can feel air coming out of there...

So is it possible to add A/C or is this one a DOA project???

I'm in SC and A/C is a must in the summer.

You can see all the areas where there should be something, there is not. And I don't see a bracket where an A/C compressor would be mounted...I'm hoping there will be a way to retrofit this...

if you can find a donor truck with working ac it might not be that bad to just swap over. but if you go out and buy everything it might get quite exspensive.

I would def be doing it from a donor. My question is, will it all bolt up as is or do i need to look at getting different mounting hardware?

see above. you can see the nipple where air bows out of in the first pic, as well as a couple dangling connectors. This leads me to believe it was yanked out at some point, but I still can't tell if the compressor can be mounted where it should be. there isn't a bracket that i can tell of.

If you get a donor truck, the bracket should mount up without an issue. You might have to get the blower assembly. From what I can see though, if you can find all the parts you should be able to install it. It's not going to be an easy install though.

Yep, that's the bracket. I was about to go take some pics for you for reference. Let me know if you'd like them.

Definitely not going to be easy. Does yours not have AC controls in the dash?
Mounting the compressor, accumulator, condenser, and blower shouldn't be a big deal but wiring up the controls and sensors would be where you'd run into potential problems

I disagree. I'd be willing to bet everything you need is already wired up, just buy it all and slap it in. Just make sure you clean out the electrical connectors good and fill em with dielectric before you plug em in.

But before you start installing the compressor, change the bypass hose on top of the water pump. You'll regret not doing it if you ever have to just change it lol

Also pulling the dash to install the evaporator. Sounds like a lot of work for all the little things.
