I have a quick question hopefully. On your description of the Mufflex you state here.

"There is no need to pay a "Muffler Shop" to do a job like this with a universal muffler and substandard aluminized tubing when you can get a complete Mufflex 409 SS tube kit that has been engineered to fit your truck without issues."

Is this included in the $289? The wording seems to imply this is extra but i don't see it listed on the site at all.

Thank you.

The kit comes with the extension tubes. Everything you need for the install. I went with the muffler shop for $165 for an 18" myself. Biggest problem with the Mufflex kit is leaks so if you are careful with the install and use some ultra copper you should be able to avoid that.

The Mufflex kits are completely bolt-on. They come with the muffler and 2 tail pipes that route to the factory location and re-use the factory tips. It is just an easy way to go for the guys that dont have a trusted exhaust shop in the area, or if you just want a bolt-on setup that can be removed easily. The front clamp has been known to leak a little, so you want to use some copper sealant around the clamp when installing it.

If you would rather have a more permanent setup, then any of the single 3" in/Dual 2.5" out Magnaflow mufflers will work and will give you the same sound. You would just need to have it welded in.

The front clamp is known to not work at all. I bought a formed clamp and now the muffler won't slip off

The Mufflex bolts on easy. Nothing 'extra' just buy it and bolt it on.

I agree that the front clamp sucks. You can buy a different 3" exhaust clamp and fix this easy. It cost me all of $3 for the new clamp. Been flawless for the last 19,000 miles.

BTW, if you want an aggressive note, get the 14". The 18" is very mellow.
