Wanting put a 3.75in combo rough country lift kit (2.5in suspension/1.5in body) on my 2011 ram 4x4 wondering if its worth it and if i will see a significant difference. Im not trying to jack it up sky high but i definitely want it to turn heads

I have this kit. I don't know what the add claims that you are reading however the one I bought was supposed to be a 2.5"f and 3/4" rear spacer, plus the 125" body lift. For starters they sent me out 1.75" rear spacer, so the truck still had a massive rake and just generally looked stupid. I called them up and they basically just told me it was a production change, tough luck. I never did get what I ordered. The supposed 2.5" front spacer actually achieves just under 2" of actual lift, so that also helps to keep the massive rake when paired with the 1.75" rear spacer. I have no complaints about the body lift except that it tore my rad shroud all up when the fan turned on, it could be a bit my fault for not thinking to check, but still, I thing they should have mentioned to check it in the instructions. The worst part for Rough COuntry is that I was planning on buying their 6" lift this winter, however because of this whole ordeal I am instead going through bds. I'd hate to spend big money on a lift and have them tell me tough **** again when something's messed up.

Final Recomendation: If I were you I'd just buy the rough country body lift and the bilstein 5100 front shocks. This will give you a total of about 4" of lift for just over $300, which isn't a bad price at all. Even better is that if you decide to go with a suspension lift in the future, you can still use those parts in conjunction with it, so you aren't wasting any money by buying this now.

You also asked if it was noticeable. Well, I also have 35's on my truck, and in person, people ask if I have a lift in it, and other people say it's a big or stout truck, however IMO the 35's look too stuffed. Realistically, if you aren't looking to go huge, just a bit bigger, a 6/3 lift is probably going to be your best look, but it's also around 600% more than the cost of this 4" setup. I guess it all comes down to how good you are at compromising.; I know my new lift is coming next month and my RC levelling kit is gong in the garbage.... Compromise blows

There are a few guys here running 35s. Hopefully they'll chime in as well.

^Good info there, thanks Wayne. I know Candy08 has had very good luck with rough country and getting them to warranty his rear shocks for a lean issue. Too bad they changed the leveling kit. I agree that they should have told you no doubt. Coming from somebody in the support field, maybe that person was just having a bad day and you were getting the brunt end of their mood. TRUST me, I have plenty of those days when people just **** me off and the more people I have to help the worse the mood I get in.

You could always remove the rear spacers...just an idea. In order to "level" our trucks you don't want to add anything to the rear anyway otherwise you will keep the factory rake....just a matter of how much of a rake. For them to advertise it as a "level kit" is BS but it's not their fault that it doesn't make your truck sit perfectly level IMO...

preciate it that helps alot. however i didnt find a body lift for a 2011 only a 2009-2010 not sure if that matters much but jus sayin. and if i jus added the shocks i wouldnt think that would level out the front end. to be honest i would love to get a 6 in suspension lift i jus cant afford it.

To the OP, I would highly recommend the Bilstein 5100 front adjustable shocks to achieve the level then do the body lift. As Wayne mentioned, if you do decide to step up to a suspension lift in the future, those are all components that can be kept and added to your suspension lift.

so to be clear the bilstien 5100 adjustable WILL level the front end? would i jus leave the back end of the truck as is? and as for the body lift will that increase ground clearance or jus increase the wheel well for bigger tires? in the case of tires, what size would u recommend if i went this route? sorry if i seem not very knowledgeable on the whole subject ive had a old ford but never really tried doin any aftermarket adjustments so this is my first time dealin with lifts and what not

The Bilstein 5100s have 4 settings, stock, 1.4", 2.1" and 2.8" - you will need roughly 2.5" to level the front, but the 2.8" setting usually works well for leveling the front end. The body lift will just raise the body to fit bigger tires and make the truck look bigger. I'd say 35s would look perfect for that setup. No worries with the questions, ask as many as you like.

5100's will level the front, yet. The body lift will raise the body from the frame, and you'll be able to run larger tires. Really doesn't effect ground clearance.

These are not "normal" shocks. They have different settings to extend or retract. Body lift...3". Check with our vendor 3rd Strike for prices for both. He is currently getting ready for SEMA, but he will get back to you. And, he price matches.

The Bilstein adjustable 5100 shocks will work fine with your 2011. Honestly for the body lift I wouldn't go over 1.25" without having a suspension lift. Any bigger and you'll start to make 35s look small anyway.

I would recommend a 4" lift and do it right the first time. You can run 35" tires and have a mean stance. I run a 8" and I still stare at 4" lifts because they have such a awesome stance.

i know you are concerned about the lift, but you said you are going to run stock wheels. First question...what wheels do you have? Second what width tire are you planning to run, because depending on wheel and tire width you will have rubbing and require wheel spacers.

For running on the stock wheels, anything wider than a 295/65R20 (35.5x12.2x20) will require spacers.

I'm not arguing with kevin or MadCow here, this is just my opinion and would have saved me some money in the long run. If I was planning on never going any higher than the 4" combo lift, I would go with 33" tires on 18" wheels. The reason for this is that you still get the same amount of sidewall as a 35" on a 20, but I find that the 35's just look too stuffed on a truck with that little of a lift. Guys with 8" of lift are running 37's which are only 2" closer to the fender than a 33" tire would be. and yet they have 4 more inches of lift than a 4". So basically I am saying, don't go with too big of a tire because it's going to make you want to lift more to make it look proportional. That's what happened to me. The other bonus is that 33's on 18's are a considerable cost savings

PS. Kevin, yah, I did take the spacer out an hour after installing it. I was just a bit disappointed since I had paid for it and had to install and take out all for nothing. However I think it's going to be going back in pretty soon (I've got a little something up my sleeve ;) )
