I already have black painted headlights. These are my stockers.... going to paint them, and do a HID projector conversion.

Actually, taking them apart was not too bad... I did the oven trick... worked just fine.

For those of you that have done this, did you clean up the old black sealant that was on them? I'm guessing yes... but just checking.

yup, get rid of all of that sealant! you'll want it out of there when you go to reseal them.

Yeah- remove the old (sorry!)
Getting that crap out was as much work as getting the basterds apart, for me at least. Some small needle-nose pliers really helped with that.

They have been ordered..... I need to paint the lights this week. I also ordered the H1 Morimoto 6000K bulbs along with them.

...any chance you took a "before" pic to campare with the "after"? I don't mean the lenses, I mean a pic of how much illumination change you'll get on the road.

I can do that. I currently have painted headlights with 6000K HIDs in them. These are my old stock headlights which I am doing surgery on, so I still have my current set up.

I will get a before pic for sure!

Trying to decide whether or not to paint the reflector section where the parking light/blinker is.... hmmmm.......

I should receive the projectors (along with 6000K H1 bulbs) by the end of the week, as I ordered them this morning from The Retrofit Source. They have shipped already. So, I guess I need to get the paint going.... I am going with Satin Black I believe.
