nah that wouldnt be half asses, you can polish to different levels, right now it stands out, you can do a qick-ish pass on it and make it look like the rest of the truck, perk of polishing, you can make it look as good or bad as you want, there have been alot of times in my body shop that i have to "un-polish) a new painted panel to make it match the swirls of the rest of the car, that way the new panel isnt obvious
****, that's horrible, dude...

But I have to figure out a way to attach this 3m adhesive remover wheel to my cordless drill so I can use it in my door spear and window edge deflector adhesives...

Then the truck will actually be totally ready for detailing on my next 3 day weekend.

I'd try that 3M adhesive remover first I think. It's some good stuff. With that amount of adhesive, nothing is going to be easy, but if you soak it for a few minutes it might help.

I tried that stuff. There's still residue and even some raised **** left. And I used a plastic scraper to help.

Think detailing spray like that used for clay baring would help protect it with the wheel? Would clay baring get the seen but unfelt residue?

You could try some clay bar lube with that eraser wheel. IMHO I just wouldn't push to hard on the wheel----you might end up damaging the paint(clear and maybe even the paint itself). I don't think a clay bar itself will do much good with that adhesive. Some people use WD 40 on adhesive to loosen it up.

Try some gasoline or even some paint thinner, neither will hurt the paint if used properly

I wish I could share something. It's dirty beast, and no time until June to get anything done to it.
