Don't have a picture handy of my truck on this computer, but I custom ordered my 2017 Ram 1500 CC 6'4" with 4-corner air suspension in Granite Crystal Metallic. Love it!!

View attachment 146270 View attachment 146272 View attachment 146273 View attachment 146276 View attachment 146277 I haden’t noticed a lot of crew cab 6’4” bed 1500’s around my area (illinois) so I figured I’d start a thread to see how many are out there. Post up a picture and maybe a list of mods if you feel like it. I’ll start off with mine, it’s a 2015 ram 1500 lone star 4x4 with the full center console 8.4 Nav, etc. It’s the crew cab and has the 6’4” bed. I bought it bone stock used out of El Paso Texas (to avoid any rust hopefully) about 4 months ago and since then I have removed the wheel to wheel steps and added amp power steps. I installed a backflip cover and had the windows tinted to 35%. I’ve also added bilstein 5100 struts set at 2.1”, 5160 rear shocks with the external reservoirs. Moto Metal 962 18x10 -24 offset with 265 70 18 falken wildpeak at3’s. Threw some big universal mud flaps on to cut down on salt spray on rockers. Led taillights and led lights throughout. Almost forgot the oem flares that I had color matched. Here’s a before and a couple after shots.

Gary if I could have found a crew cab with the longer bed, I would have bought one. Settled for the quad cab.

Btw, which bilsteins are those with extra tank and why did you shower them ? Thanks .

Also, nice looking Ram.

Now this thread makes me, a quad cab owner very jealous :(

But hey, I can squeeze into a good tight parking spot that a crew cab can't :)

How is the pedal commander? have heard mixed reviews.

My '14 had the 3.92 gears and it apparently is just set up different. When i would turn the knob to D i had to make sure i was on the brake as it wanted to go like a scalded cat. The '17 has the 3.21 gears and maybe its that or the Laramie package that they tune it down in the torque management or something but it just felt laggy. After reading the whole pedal commander thread i went for it (although completely skeptical) and it is definitely worth it for me. Feels just like my '14...no lag...punch it and the power is immediate. Obviously it's no performance increase but damn it sure feels like it.

I'm looking at ordering a Crew Cab Laramie 1500 w/ the 6'4" bed right now. I'm curious about your decision to switch from the wheel to wheel sidesteps to the power running boards. Did you look at the power running boards Ram will you sell you? I've been debating between the two and I'd love to know why you switched from one to the other!

(For me - I'm wondering how useful the wheel to wheel steps are for getting into the bed versus how many problems they may cause in deep snow on unmaintained/low-maintained mountain roads in the winter...)

I picked up an '18 Laramie w/ the 6'4" bed and added the AMP powered running boards as well; I asked about wheel to wheel powered ones but was told that they were not available.
I have the wheel to wheel RB's on my '13 F150, but I have to say that I really enjoy the AMP powered ones; I just had my knee replaced and they make it pretty easy to get in and out. There's an added benefit of the clean look you get with them tucked up, as well.
And finally, my wife loves them! She's (almost) 5'2" and had a very hard time getting in the truck, som of course I told her I got them for her!

They're out there - I lucked into mine as I was looking for a truck with the ramboxes; didn't realize it was a 6'4" bed until I put a tonneau cover on.

2016 Laramie True Blue Pearlcoat. This was the day I drove it home. Don't have a current pick with windows tinted and tonneau cover. But you get the idea.

I would have got an 8' bed if I could have. It almost made me get a 2500 but I wanted the better ride of a 1/2 ton.IMG_1427.JPG

I wanted an 8’ bed as well and looked at several used 2500’s during my search. Ultimately I couldn’t beat the discounts on a new 2018 1500 leftover, and the deals on new 2500’s were not anywhere near as good as the 1500’s at the time.

I love the long beds. Here is mine. 2014 Big Horn in Maximum Steel, 4" SST lift kit, 20x9 Fuel Vectors, 35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers, Amp Research power steps, Black-out on all the emblems and bumpers, and Undercover Flex Tonneau Cover. I did the bumpers with Plasti dip which looked good for the first couple of months but is prone to nicks and scrapes and has to be retouched often.

almost necessary if you are burdened with the horrible 3.21's like I am lol (personal opinion of course). I so badly wanted a 2015 - 2018 crew sport 6'4" with 3.92's but, around my area dealers rarely would order that config, meaning... special order. the deep discounts offered when doing the 2017 and 2018 inventory clear out deals weren't applied to anything but existing inventory (maybe it's a Canada thing). I'm still looking but for now here's the 2015 Longhorn with tan leather (no embroidery) I settled on. every option except tow mirrors (thankfully).

so far, cargo and backup lights swapped to LED. added a pedal commander. bought a used set of chrome 22" SRT10 wheels with 305/45/22 on them which will be going on in the spring. at which time, I hope to have the Inez Hot Rods 4/6 kit in hand and find a place to install it. pull out the factory air suspension and remove the OEM flares. depending how it looks without the flares.. if I still don't like the chrome, may try to track down front and rear sport bumpers and grill in white as well and paint the door handles.

can't seem to post an image.. but here she be...

I bought the 6'-4" bed, and love it. Although it is a tight fit in the garage, lol.
Installed Weathertec Mudflaps, AMP Bed Extender, and I'm about to install the Mopar Bed Step.

2015 Bighorn EcoDiesel in maximum steel. I swapped the stock wheels with a set of wheels & tires from a Rebel. Air suspension is leveled with custom links on the front. Running boards are cheapest I could find on Amazon, I figured they'd be temporary until I could get the ones I really want, but they look fine and they've held up great for 3 years, I have no complaints with them! I added a Revolver x4 bed cover earlier this year and I really like it. Next up is a set of slightly bigger Duratracs when these Toyos wear out.

ps. I notice a lot of RamBox's on this post. I find it odd that Ram is not offering the RamBox on the 6'4" bed anymore.

To me, the 5.5' box is only for hauling a big load of groceries! I've never had any of my soon to be 6th Rams with the short beds on them; and never will...
Unfortunately, here is my #5 Ram sporting what WERE brand new 275-60 General Grabber ATX tires:

Turtle1.r_zpsgzbkq65o.jpg

The 6.33' box looks good even upside down!
LoL...

My #6 Ram, which I hope to pick up this week, looks nearly identical to #5, except for having the factory old-man boards and not being upside down of course (knocking on wood for luck!!!).

My '15 max steel big horn with various minor updates (mostly de-chroming)- excuse my poor framing, I was taking these photos of my new falken wildpeak's a couple weeks ago. Interested how many of these cc 6'-4" beds are big horns.

I had no idea that they made the crew cab with the 6.4 bed until last summer when my son bought a white one....it's a great combination!!!
