Just curious had bad luck with my first motor, looking for some high mileage ones. Had a new motor put in mine at 16,500. I have a 2017 4x4

What went wrong, rocker arm failure?
not sure was bottom end problem, sounded like a bearing spun, definitely had a knock in the bottom end but they did't take the motor apart
Oh ok, that's real bad. I had heard of some dealers just replacing the heads with rocker arm failure but that would have me paranoid about the bearings. Glad they took care of you. I wanted to get the EcoD but the return on investment didn't make sense with my short commute.
I went off the top of my head, but there is a thread going on Ram1500Diesel forum that has 20 if I counted them correctly that are over the 100K mark, not including Vern. There have been other +100K trucks reported over the years including a bunch that were used a oversized load semi escorts.Haven't read about any other high mileage ecodiesels other than Vern.

There are some '15-'16 trucks in the 60K-80K mile range but those are probably higher than average mileage.
Considering the EcoDiesel only been around for about 5 years. That's a bunch of miles in a short span of time. There bunch more trucks over 60K that are newer than '14Is 100000 miles still considered high mileage ?
You are a lot more likely to get to that high mileage goal if the truck has had the EGR deleted at the very least.
