My bet is a loose antenna on the back (white one) or defective radio.

M² Mods.
Probably right. I'll check back in when I get a chance to take it back out. Shows how much I use it haha

Well since that didn't work. I got my wife's compass console apart. Unfortunately the Mini USB Male to Male cable isn't a separate PN from the rest of the console harness.

Here's the OEM PNs and pictures

- 18 Compass 2nd Row/Remote USB port (RSX sales code)
... PN: 5UV99LXHAA $41
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-usb-port-5uv99lxhaa

- 18 Compass Console harness (w/ 115v outlet, Remote USB "RSX", etc)
... PN: 68251051AE $51 ... CONFIRMED
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-wiring-console-68251051ae

... ALT PN (per Benny at AllmoparParts)
PN: 68251059AE $48 ... CONFIRMED
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-wiring-console-68251059ae

... Wrong PN (w/o 115v): 68360965AB $23 ... DOESN'T HAVE USB CABLE

Got the parts, cheapest cable definitely doesn't have the USB. More to come when I get time to test it.

Could not find who mentioned it. I just installed a 2017 cluster in my 2015 and it shows all the XM stations properly. As did a 2018 cluster. Did not check the navigation as it was not going to stay in the truck and did not want to get my mileage off.

It's good to know the newer clusters will show the UAQ/UAS radio messages correctly even when in the earlier trucks. When I installed my UAQ radio in my 14 my 13 7" cluster wouldn't read half of the radio stations correctly and the navigation in cluster wouldn't show the correct information half the time. I know that the 13,14 and 15 clusters won't show the info correctly for the UAQ/UAS. I'm not sure about the 16 but now we know the 17 and 18 will. I just bought an 18 speedometer going to have the mileage set and install it.

Well... The remote/2nd row USB port lights up but isn't recognized when connected to the Premium 18 Ram Dual USB hub. (Base 18 ram USB/charge port hub doesn't have the 2nd row connector). Likely due to the 2 USB port type limit in the BCM. I was hoping it would at least give a pass through for AA/CarPlay.

I also tried setting ECU 3 external port type from ...
Aux + USB + extra USB
To ...
Aux + USB + SD + extra USB

With no change (didn't expect it to help).

I need to get my hands on another Compass USB/Aux hub and see if it will work that way. Not sure if @Ricks Ram , or @STecoD still have the compass hub installed or not. (DeereGuy and I both swapped to the ram hub)f0cd96e3c316523af12c4a23d859bb82.jpg3311cafe737d35d52fce36740b6e0e06.jpg

What's Nathan using?

M² Mods.
He actually found a console out of an 18 so he has the Ram style. He traded the compass style hub to the guy he got his console from.

Hello everyone, I am wanting to do this mod, I ordered my cable from M2 Mods and I reached out to Benny to get pricing on the hub. I am not sure which hub I want to go with yet. I have a 2016 Ram with the bucket seats and center console. I already have the 8.4 from the factory so I would only be doing this to get Carplay and AA.

Let me see if I got this straight,
Compass Hub:
About $15 cheaper
Seems to be a little easier to install (at least for my application) but only has one USB port, but I could keep the round factory USB charging port since the Compass hub is smaller.

Ram Hub:
Dual USB ports,
You have to remove the factory round USB port since this hub is wider.
The hub looks a little nicer (subjective)

For the ones that are not installing the new inserts, (which seems to be jump seat trucks, as the center console insert is crazy expensive) what are you using that looks factory? I seen a few solutions for adapters since neither hub fits the old Ram perfectly, I like the idea of having something 3D printed and I have access to a printer but I haven't' seen a file, or I would even be willing to buy something if it looks good.

Any help is appreciated.

Working on it. :)

The adaptors for the RAM hub are almost ready. I have the version for the jump seat done except for final "make it pretty" tweaks and as soon as some console outline tracings MPGrimm has sent me arrive in the mail I should be able to complete the console version. Prints of each will then go to the fine folks who provided me access to the parts for measuring (I have a jump seat truck and do not have a UAS/UAQ radio) so they can test fit in their vehicles. Assuming the fitment tests go well, both will then be posted to Thingaverse for those with their own printers and Shapeways for those without or who want a higher quality print than home machines can provide.

Given my schedule and allowing time for the others involved to do their test fits, I'm hoping to be able to post them by the end of the month.

Thanks for the reply. So it looks like the adapter will be for the Ram Hub, so I will order that one. I am not in a huge hurry I still need to find a UAQ or UAS, the one I had lined up fell through. If I can be of any help with anything please let me know.

Can the existing media hub/ cig lighter be removed without removing the whole tray from the jump seat?

It's definitely one of the newer ones with 22.5 on it. Unlock code is required anytime it's transferred to another vehicle.

Send me a message with your phone number and I will try to call you later this evening when I get back from Houston Space Center tour. I wonder if it was installed temporarily in my factory UAS 18 Laramie if it would reset properly to USA units. I have a UAQ in they now with v19.9 that's working well.

Maybe one of the other guys has some thoughts on this...

I just installed a new 2018 UAQ and it did not ask for an unlock code?

The new radios will not ask for an unlock code the first time they are installed and will automatically connect to your Vin#. If you attempt to install it in different vehicle it will then ask for an unlock code becuse it will see that it's getting installed in another truck.

Good to know, thanks!

Side question. After I got my new UAQ installed, SXM seemed to work fine, and says it is Subscribed. Did it pull my account info based on my VIN???

No, every radio that we have bought that's new is already subscribed to XM sometimes it lasts more than a year sometimes it lasts the year it all depends. You are also subscribed to Travelink and Real Time Traffic but it will not show up on the radio unless you enable the code in your BCM with the alfa tool.

This is the code you would need to enable in order for the Travel and Traffic to work if your truck did not come with a Nav radio from the factory. e484623b9205b61a831e9c3865c3a3d0.jpg1d3c837c3b76b56a8c4114d1358e0e10.jpg
