So I have a 2015 Big Horn in black and I love the truck, but I think there's just a touch too much chrome up front. I do like the chrome overall, but I just think there's a bit too much up there. (Not my truck below, but looks just like it.)

I'm keeping the chrome bumper, but wondering what option might look better for the grille (and I'd like to keep it somewhat stock); black surround with chrome inserts, or chrome surround with black inserts.

I'd love some feedback, maybe pics of a similar setup, and does anyone know of a good place to source OEM grilles? I search for grilles but seem to get all aftermarket results.

Thanks in advance, this is a great forum!

My opinion would be to do the chrome surround with black honeycomb type inserts. I don’t know that a black surround with chrome inserts really works despite having that almost on my 13 1500 Sport.

Of Course black vs white so may be quite a different outcome

Thanks. I guess I never looked closely enough to see that the quads came out. I always thought it was a one piece with the surround. Might try blacking the quads out with a film or something just to see how I like the look before I do anything else.

Thanks to all for the help so far.

Convert, for now.

small
I bought mine for $255 shipped from Allmoparparts.com, a vendor here, then figured may sell chrome ones for $100 or so.
So for $155...worth it.

I plastidip'd my Laramie inserts to see if I like the black...not sure yet. If I keep it black, going to have them line-x'd09d8065e59ecd907d5c3f1004abb3146.jpg

I plan on switching my Laramie chrome grille on my 2015 2500 for this one. Haven't been able to get the surround painted yet. The grille is an aftermarket one off eBay, the letters are OEM Rebel grille letters off eBay too. The letters should attach directly to the grille with the clips that are on them but I will need to trim the clips just a bit to make it all line up perfectly. My truck is deep cherry red, I think I'm going to paint the surround and the letters to match. I'm hoping it turns out as awesome as I think it will.

Would look good with a color matched surround with chrome inserts. I had the same issue as you with to much chrome but still wanted some chrome. Since you have a chrome bumper i would leave the inserts chrome. This is what i did.

The insert is the chrome honeycomb that came with the limited laramie package. I kinda like the sport grilles that are just straight across. First i painted the chrome surround and it didnt hold up to the beating it takes being on the front of the truck. So i actually bought another all chrome grille that i traded for one that came painted from factory. I had it painted to match and added my chrome inserts to it. You can buy them ready to paint i beleive but you might be able to find one on craigslist or something like that. Ive got a family friend that does auto paint so he didnt charge me anything to paint it.
