Sooo.. I just tried a 2018 UAS Delphi Radio in my 2019 (New Body style) That came with a RA2 and it seems to work perfectly. Completely plug n play with code. ‍‍

I now need a 2019 Big Horn dash Bezel since the 8.4 A/C bezel wont mate to the Tradesman dash bezel surround.

Your rear view camera is showing on the radio and your steering wheel controls work? That was some of the problems with using a 2019 radio in the 4th Gen that one person figured out the hard way.

Let us know if anything is off

I believe @fasthemiram12 is saying that he has a new 5th gen 2019 'DT' truck and hence the 5th gen 2019 Delphi DT UAS radio is working.

Am I correct?

I have a new 5th Gen New Body Style 2019 and bought a 8.4 UAS out of a 2018.

Just checked and backup camera does not work. Nor do I see Sirius XM for some reason. I thought I saw it last night but did a reset on the radio. Maybe it disappeared.

The one thing I am noticing about the UAQ, is that the screen is darker than the RA3. Is there a setting to make it lighter?

Yes. There is an option for manual brightness adjustment or Auto somewhere in the settings menu. You need Auto if you want it to dim Automatically at night

I've been hunting for a 2018 UAQ, is there something to beware about for the '19 classic head units? I have a 2016 and I wouldn't want to drop money on a newer unit that will lose me some features or not work outright. Is it just the head units from the 5th gen trucks we need to stay away from?

Yes. Stay away from the 5th gen/Delphi 'DT' units. Known working PNs are listed in the OP. If you find a 19 classic with a different PN, maybe it will work but IDK.

See post 1238. Mike already looked up the wiring and it’s in this post

Has anyone found a way to make the backup and bed camera’s brighter with the UA(X) radios? It seems dark even during the day.

On the flip side, I just bought a UAS out of a 2019 5th Gen RAM thinking it was a classic, and I'm now in need of a UAS for the 4th Gen Ram.

Would you be interested in a straight trade, that way we both have a UAS and a working backup camera?

I've already got someone I promised to swap with.

Nice little accessory for UAQ and UAS Carplay and Android Auto users. I bought some of the these magnetic USB cables and they work fine with our radios. I am always worried about the micro USB connector getting messed up by connecting and disconnecting multiple times per day. They come with USB-C and iPhone connectors as well. These cables eliminate that issue and you can connect / disconnect your phone with one hand. You can select various lengths, colors and covering types on the Amazon product page.

Can't send voice recognition (VR) texts. It seems RAM broke VR texts on the UAQ. It shows up on the message menu but when i try it the voice says "Send a Pre-define message". Anyone get this to work?

Nope that's what they did going forward starting in 2018. Guess it's left over code.

Grrrr. The more I use Android Auto the less I like it. The Google assistant is not very fluid. Sometimes it just doesn't respond after a command or is slow and I repeat the command then it says it didn't understand. After a lengthy text it says it didn't understand and I have to repeat the whole thing. Google maps keep thinking I am turning right on every second or third street and the map rotates 90 degrees for a 1/2 second and then back.

I tried an iPhone with the UAQ and Carplay was MUCH better. Siri is very fluid and understands variations in commands. VR of text messages was flawless. Also, for some reason Google maps works fine on the iPhone. No glitching every second or third street.

Not having VR text is a deal killer for me. I would hate to have to switch phone brands to get a piece of automotive technology to work. I am rethinking this whole UAQ install since RAM killed VR text in Uconnect and Android Auto is so frustrating.
