Does anyone have any issue with the door not fitting snug and whistling at high speed? I'm using the k&n filter.

From what I have read the door is not fully seated ! It can be a pain,. If I remember right try hooking one side first then snap in the free side!. Did you cut the opening ? If so did you notch the lower cut out area ?

I did this mod as well and can say that the door/panel can be a pain to re-seat after a filter recharge (I use the K&N oiled version).
My advice and what I have figured out works, at least for me and the Falcon... when putting the door back on, hook the driver's side first, then press on the passenger side, gently increasing pressure until you feel it click/snap into place. You will feel it, but may not always hear it.

I cut it myself. Pretty sure I cut the notch. I'll try reseating it tomorrow at work and see if your suggestions help! I have the oiled k&n as well

I did when first installed. Waited for a very hot day when plastic was pliable and got a good seal. Problem hasn't reoccurredd with subsequent filter changes.

I did mine with a utility knife, PITA. But I took my time and did it right, seems to work rather well too. The dust that used to show on the dash is nowhere like it used to be, no whistling. I think I used a Chrysler 200 cabin filter for the application. I also pulled the blower motor and cleaned it out after install. It’s worth it! I am not sure when to change the filter. I’ve gone about 15,000 miles so far.

I have a 2015, SO pulling the blower motor is fairly easy ? Thanks

Extremely easy. I think 2 or 3 fasteners and it comes down! You can see them if you look under the dash after you remove the glove box.
Thanks for the info. When our temps get above 11* Ill have to look lol. Which would be spring and It should be time to change the CAF so that will be a good time to look and yard it out ! That does sound like something I could do :) Thanks for the info

Hows about Brought a filter kit for my 2016 Laramie from Genos garage and went to install it.. Took down glove box and **** the cover was already on the truck so I said not bad I,ll just change the filter now,and have a spare cover for the air box. When I finally got it opened Their was no filter on my truck from the factory they robbed me of a cabin filter on a 56,000 truck. Ram if your reading this Mail me a new Mopar cabin filter

if it makes you feel better, seems this was standard practice until 2017 i think someone mentioned before. it was cheap ass, but they were doing it to everyone!

For our 2018 2500 SLT QC and and our 2018 1500 Tradesman. I found the Mopar filters were a poor fit and made cheap, but expensive. I now use the Fram charcoal and baking soda filter. Get them from Amazon. Last couple were on sale for about $10 each. Fit very snug and highly effective. Fitz
