All 3 of them are running kings as a foundation but have different tuning internally between the 3 of them. I'm sure they can guide you a bit more accurately, but I'm gonna say accutune or thuren suspension will get you the most for your money in regards to out of the box performance.

Icons and kings are valved a bit differently and I'm pretty sure you will likely get a more plush feeling from kings. Especially with a lighter valving profile tuned for choppy washboard bsckroads stuff

you have to hit the lotto to spend 5k , A gulfstream G650 yes will take lotto money

Statistically >80% of us would be foolish to spend $5k we don't absolutely need to spend so yeah it would take winning the lottery for me to consider that kind of upgrade... and I'm well into the upper half of that bottom 80%

No hate or resentment on the people who are doing better though, as long as you came by it honestly we're all here to have a good time so I'd love to see folks rocking those high end suspension systems.

So what Icon setup do you have right now? How many open threads you have above your CO collar ? that would be your preload.
Icon make good stuff but I hate they won't give the darn reservoirs in the front, and without RES you don't get CDC either if you wanted the feature. Out of the bat you have less oil in the your CO bodies and less gas as well so you i would think you won't have the same performance out of the options with remote reservoirs. King, Fox or Radflo give you the full capabilities as far as performance with their shocks.

https://accutuneoffroad.com/ifp-vs-remote-reservoir-shocks/

You also get heavier rated springs with Icon with their OE specs (13" free length springs, 650lbs/inch rate) so they'll feel firmer on the street compared to King, Fox or Radflo. They have 500/550 and 600 to start. You can change springs as needed, revalving would be ideal.

If you have the 2.0 shocks in the back with their 2.5 CO's in the front, have you considered just switching rears from 2.0 to 2.5 ?

The other option is sell what you have, recup some money and get the 2.5 front and rear shocks for max performance.

Edited: from your sig i see you have the Icon 2.0's in the back.
You can upgrade to the 2.5 Icons.
https://performancelifts.com/icon-ram-1500-piggyback-reservoir-rear-shock-217715p.html

Talk to Nick around here and see if he can get you a better deal.

Or like i said sell your Icon stuff, you can sell front and rear for say 800-900 if they're in good conditions, and use that money to finance your new set of King or Fox from Accutune or Filthymotorsport or Thuren or Carli. all of them are tuners and believe me the difference between OE and valved and tune is very noticeable especially when you're beating the crap of the shocks.

Have fun :)

I went with thuren Kings, stage 2. All around and couldn't be happier.

I saw mixed reviews on icon, and a lot of people hesitant in their digressive valving.

I also saw on the diesel forum, a guy had Kings on a 2013, then bought a 2017 and went with icons to try something and didn't notice much of a difference.

When you buy the Kings from thuren, they customize them completely to the weight of bumpers added so the springs are the prefect rebound rate. They do their homework. Lots of customizability.

I love mine.

I’d suggest you look into re-valving your existing shocks before anything else. Call and talk to their tech guys. Tell them what you are experiencing and various speeds and terrain conditions (be very specific) How much if any weight you’ve added (bumpers, tires etc). And tell them how you want them to perform (be very realistic) if you tell em you want to hit whoops at 60+ all day they can make it happen but you will sacrifice in other areas and will be very upset with the result. New shim stacks run about $80 and you can install yourself if you feel confident and have tools.
I’d start here, if you still aren’t satisfied then look into a custom tuned King shock or one of the other various well recognized off road brands.
Out of the box my Kings ran far better than any shock I’ve had in the past but I still had to valve them to my specific needs and style of driving.

I have thuren/king stage 2, haven’t had chance to take off-road yet, but handles better than any car I’ve owned! Their is a lot of constrution/rough roads I drive between home & work so I have noticed a big improvement over my stock suspension, I bought truck with 52k so I imagine shocks were due, can’t speak for newer stock suspension. I do want upgrade rear control arms, seems a little loose over rough roads when turning

Little late to the party here, but as others have mentioned I'd look into getting the Icon's tuned before jumping up to the Kings. My setup is all a little bit of compromise and I'm still running OE King valving until it's time to get them rebuilt. If it was a dedicated purpose truck I'd probably have already had them re-valved, but for trying to do a little of everything the OE valving has done well for me.

I am late to the show! I ran the dirt king bolt on 4x4 kit but just upgraded to the race kit. I have only heard great things about Icon but the dirt king bolt on kit is the ****. I did almost anything I wanted with that kit and just couldnt find a way to break it. I mean literally had the truck off the ground about 5 ft high and came down like it was nothing. You will not find a stronger better designed kit than dirt king imo.

They have a new rear setup since last year but it's not listed in their website. I have no idea why.

This guy! Went high speed driving on a few trails at Moab. There was an enormous difference in handling for the trucks that had Kings and those that did not.
