Now find me some Wildpeaks...Wouldn’t mind having a spare set.
FWIW, 2 weeks ago I got 5 Falken AT3W's 37x12.50x17R's from Discount Tire within 5 days of ordering. No mention of backorders or difficulty; just took a few days to get the 5th tire. I wonder if issues are regional, or just size specific?

I've been a BFG AT guy forever, but am really liking these Falkens.

Nice Truck! @2manyprojects

The 35 inch sizes are what my brother was having trouble finding. It very well could be specific sizes or a regional thing

I ordered 5 BFG KM3's yetserday from Discount Tire. 37/12.5/17 including TPMS and certificates, the all in cost was $2,400.00. Not sure if it's a great deal or not. I may forego the certificates as I've always bought them, but never used one. They should arrive next week.

I got the wheels back today from powder coating. They look amazing. I’ll post a pic when they are on the truck. Waiting for the KM3s to get here. Decided to go that way.
Finding them has been a real issue.

The 35 12.50R17 Kenda Klever R/T Load Range E weighs 71 lbs (70.69), whereas, the BFG KM3 @ 74.4 lbs, Falken Wildpeak A/T @ 75.4 lbs, Toyo C/T and General Grabber X3 both @ 77 lbs, and Falken Wildpeak M/T @ 79.6 lbs. The 35 12.50R17 Duratrac weighs 68 pounds, but it is a 2 ply sidewall, whereas all the above have a 3 ply. There has to be some reason that all the rest are much heavier than the Kenda.

Reference:
Brand: Kenda
Model: Klever R/T
Size: 35X12.50R17
Aspect Ratio: 12.5
Inflated Diameter: 34.7
Inflated Width: 12.5
Load Index: 121
Load Range: E
Max Load Pressure: 3197@65
Ply: 10
Section Width: 35
Service Description: 121R
Sidewall: BSW
Speed Index: R
Tire Rim Diameter: 17
Tire Type: Hybrid AT/MT
Tread Depth: 20
Weight: 70.69 lbs
Do you have any guess why there is such a weight disparity?

Anyone running this setup on their PW with stock suspension? I’m going from stock wheel and 285 /70 Cooper at3 xtl to the AEV wheel.

I feel like I owe it to the truck to go with 37s since the wheel is made to fit that size tire with its back spacing. I’d like to run a MT or more aggressive AT for the seasons without snow. I’ll have two sets of wheels and tires since I bought those Saltas.

any advice on a tire to go with? Needs to be E rated as I tow a lot. can you even get a 37 E rated tire?

I’m thinking I should stick with a 35 since I tow as much as I do / weight concerns.

I’m leaning toward the BFG km3 but will consider anything if it meets the specs.

Thanks guys

I am running Katla 17x8.5s wrapped in 37x12.5 Cooper STT PRO tires. Offset is +27mm which is the same as the Salta 17x8.5. Because the Coopers measure more true to a 37 (36.1”x13.2” mounted under weight at 45psi) I should have gone with a +18 offset wheel. I clear the radius arms and sway bar but had to trim the pinch weld and fender liner a fair amount. A KM3 or KO2 measure smaller (35.2x12.5) mounted and under weight. They will clear with much less trimming on a +27mm offset wheel. In hindsight, I would have run a BFG on these wheels if I knew the trimming was this much more.

Both the 35" Kenda Klever R/T and the Toyo Open Country C/T (my tires) are approximately the same height of 34.7" and 34.8" (34.76) respectively, widths are both 12.5", both have a 3 ply carcass, tread patterns are similar enough, and the tread depth of 20/32" and 19.3/32" are quite close. So why is the Toyo C/T some 6 pounds heavier?

My guess is that with the Toyo having a "high turn up" in its construction of the 3 plies makes it a heavier tire than the Kenda. It also improves its durability according to this Toyo video, but then that's subjective.

With a less offset wheel (+18 instead of +27) you would have worse rub and need to trim more off the pinch weld area, not less...

It looks like the Kenda Klever R/T has a 3 ply polyester carcass under the tread without anything else such as steel belts. That lack of additional puncture protection is going to weigh far less than laying some steel and/or Kevlar belts on top of the carcass besides just the tread cap.

Both the Toyo C/T and M/T have 2 steel belts in addition to a 3 ply high turn up polyester carcass, plus a Spiral-Wound Cap Ply. A heavier tire isn't great for highway mpg, but out here in the Rockies and the Colorado Plateau while off-road it's rocks. The added protection helps against punctures.

That is correct, but you get further from the sway bar and radius arms. My Cooper STT PROs just barely clear both with a 27mm offset. Something like a Toyo or Nitto which measure even closer to a true 37, would probably rub with a 27mm offset. Less positive offset equals more sway bar and radius arm clearance but more pinch weld trimming.

Exactly. I thought you were saying less offset would move it away from pinch weld...carry on ! Lol

Lol no. As I said above, in hindsight the perfect combo to minimize trimming and clear the sway/radius is a +27mm offset wheel with a BFG 37x12.5. That combo will get your tire out far enough and with the smaller size 37 the trimming will be very minimal.

Truth is, though, the minor rub on the swaybar and radius arm dosnt hurt a damn thing. Besides turning radius, which would be completely unnoticed.

Just had a death wobble on the way home doing about 75-80mph after hitting an expansion gap while coming around a slight turn in rt78. Scared the **** of of me to be honest. Makes me want to sell the truck.

Should I hit Thuren up for an upgrade? Anyone had a similar experience in their PW?

Spoke with thuren, I ordered a track bar and steering stabilizer. Andrew was great to speak with. Very knowledgeable.

He also told me to steer clear of bfg tires as they have seen a ton of DW with them on ram trucks. I’m considering the toyo my now

My second gen 2500 came with LT265/75R-16 on stock rims
Goodyear Wrangler® All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar/ It was set up with HD suspension with plow and tow packages. It carried a Meyers C8 snow plow for 17 years as well as a salt box. I will keep these for towing and plowing even after I purchase 37x12.5x20s for playing around and showing off. I would never tow with play tires as they are too expensive for such driving. I'd rather change tires at will and make the expensive ties last ALAP.

I added a 6" lift while replacing the worn out front end parts with DOR and Skyjacker parts.
