With truck re-sale prices being sky high, I regretfully decided to sell it:

IMG_1514-X4.jpg

Over 80,000 miles and 1 set of brakes and 1 set of tires, AND THAT'S IT. This photo was taken last week with 87,500 miles on it, and it still ran and looked like a new truck (and that's in the Northeast road salt region). The new owner was as pleased as punch to get. Sold it for $6,000 less than I paid for it over 5 years ago. And people say Rams are POS, to that I say NOT!!!

What kind of deal did you end up getting on the F150?
About $6,700 off of MSRP, that includes $3,000 in rebates plus Ford's X-Plan supplier pricing which a lot of my local dealers are no longer honoring.

I was TOTALLY OK with getting a another Ram, but Ram / Ram dealers were just not offering any deals.

My employer supplies the Big Three and based on product going out our door to Ram, I know that Ram's demand is high right now.

I will say that this 2021 F150 feels faster and more luxurious than my 4th Generation Ram, but it is a lot newer.

Also, my 2015 Ram went to my cousin's husband who is a die hard "Dodge" guy and he was thrilled to get it.

Totally hear you, I’m only here now because my 2013 Wrangler was worth so much, received an offer $9k below its sticker from 8 years ago.

My wife has a 20 Rubicon so it was easy to say bye to mine.

Good looking F150 too, def my second choice. Real excited to see the pricing of the 2022 Raptor with the GT500 motor.

The fords are nice trucks no doubt. I just have never been a fan of their engines since they went away from the pushrod v8s. From the modular engines to present not a big fan, but that coyote is decent. I'm not brand loyal as I used to be, but I have my preferred brands.

Not a fan of V6s in full size trucks, turbo or not. Ford's have rust issues with their suspension components and frames, at least they did, not sure about the newest ones.

Pretty suprised though you couldn't get a better deal on a ram. Fords were 10k more when I was looking for less of a truck option wise.

Good luck with it.

I got the 5.0L Coyote V8 and the retuned 2021 5.0 really hauls (especially in Sport mode). I like the performance of the Ecoboost motors too but their complexity has me questioning the long-term reliability and maintenance costs. And my Ram 1500 drive train was anvil-reliable.

This time (new purchase), Ford was offering me $3,000 in rebates plus another $3,700 in discounts as part of the X-Plan supplier pricing. Plus the Ford gave me dual power seats and an electronic rear locker plus a lot of tech. In order to get dual power seats and an electronic rear locker in a Ram, I had move way up in trim level and price. Ram did not not have this level of incentives, although at the 11th hour Ram offered a Memorial Day Rebate, but my mind had already been made up by then.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with Ram. Ford just offered me a better deal this time.

Of note, I could have gotten a 2021 Nissan Titan SV 4X4 Crew Cab with a several packages including tube steps, a bump step, and factory installed, sprayed in bedliner for about $48,000 (including tax and tags). Also, after a test drive, the Titan performed better than I thought it would.

That X Plan is a load of crap, as is most of what I heard from my local Ford dealership.

I like Fords just fine. I have a 2013 Mustang, that I love. I don’t care for the local dealership tho.

it’s funny. Guys will always tell everyone about the killer deal they got. But they always fail to to disclose the details.

Pre-Covid demand crunch, many dealers could beat supplier pricing by a couple of hundred dollars. I hate trading in and supplier pricing makes the deal so much easier. My last 4 vehicle purchases were done over the phone and I only spent less than a hour at the dealer in total; when I picked up the vehicle.

Again, I don't trade in, so there is little to hide. On this truck I paid $6,700 below sticker which isn't bad considering the current market where many dealers are charging MSRP or more.

Been there and real estate is a better investment. Hopefully, house prices come down before you are ready to buy.

Housing market is crazy right now. My brother had to pay WELL over asking price to get his house. I’m waiting another year, minimum, hopefully it’s not as bad by then.

Wow, my Laramie was $10,000 -$15,000 less then the Lariat, 10 speed transmission is trash, along with the V-6 1,000 moving parts, with bad top end to the 5.0 oil burner, with the Plasma lined piston sleeves, so no piston sleeves.

Same here, the 5.0, 5.8, 7.0 were excellent motors. I did have good luck with a 5.4 3v F150. My dad has a ecoboost 3.6 F150 and I just don't care for it. It gets worse MPG then my ram, and even with the turbos and some upgraded piping changes, my ram still walks him.

buddy just bought a new F150 with 5.0 and he said he did pretty well and was a cash buyer. I regret not getting a Ford. I have been a Ford truck guy since my first new 1978 F150 in 1977. I wanted a Ford 7.3 gasser when I bought my 2020 6.4L mostly because my neighbor is the GM of the Ram dealership and he gave me a really good deal and 7.3 gassers were about impossible to find. I like my power wagon fine enough but every time I see a Tremor I have some regret...
