My truck has gotten a lot of love these past few months.
- The drivers side inner tie rod was shot so I decided to replace the inners and outers on both sides to save the trouble down the road. ($250)
- Replaced the lower steering shaft because it was seized on one axis. ($175...pricier than I expected)
- Brought it in for the alignment and the shop said it needs lower ball joints and possibly a wheel bearing. I wasn't paying $600 for ball joints so I told them I'd take it home and have it back in a couple of weeks.
- Replaced both lower ball joints and sway bar bushings ($160)
- Found a pair of front wheel bearings on Amazon so I replaced both sides the same time I did the ball joints. ($145)
- Drivers side CV shaft had excessive play so I replaced that, and the stub shaft. ($230)
- While going through the Timmies drive through and noticed some grinding/squeaking with the drivers window down. Got home and checked the front drive shaft, noticed a clicking noise when I twisted the CV joint. ($250)
- Finally, rear wheel bearings and seals are on the way ($80 + $75 for 3 qts of RP 75w140)
It's at 165,000 km's so I have a new water pump, thermostat/housing, gaskets and coolant in the garage. I'll wait for summer to bold that up.
