Anyone ever overfill their trans and had atf drench out the vent?

took truck to a transmission shop said he wouldn't touch it due to not being a ZF certified tech. Quick summary, prior to doing the very meticulous step by step trans drain and fill and pan filter replacement, there was a small atf leak from pan gasket. I may have possibly overfilled-drained roughly 4 qts filled 5qts went through the whole 80-120F fill temp using mopar 8/9 atf P R N D for 5 sec each back to P then to D gear 2 for 15 sec then filled until it was pouring out but didnt wait til droplets. Now this trans is wet like a slip and slide. Transmission shop after a quick external look thinks its coming from the vent valve up top pouring out the extra atf. Anyone had this issue?
