what year truck? With the new kits you have to program it at the truck with the key, then plug the 4x10 back into the computer, flash it/set it up there. Once that's done install it back in the truck , clean up and enjoy.

I can't remember the name off the top of my head but in the instructions that Doug sends it tells you the website and he gives you a temporary username and will email you a password. From there you plug in the unit and the software on the website will see it and walk you through the process. If you've already installed yours and assuming you got it from Doug, you should have that info. If not, you should contact him as the temp username and password is only good for about a week or so after you receive the kit.

So I'm now thinking about ditching this idea altogether. Local dealer is willing to put in a 1-button Viper remote starter for $299 that will give a bit better range. Compared to $200 for a DBALL2PRO kit and 3XLS.

Just need to confirm with him that the factory lock/unlock button still work.

I was getting the clicks too. My instructions were jumbled and misorganized and jumped all over the place. I literally had 12 hours in getting this thing going. My instructions said to enable active x on Internet Explorer, so I spent hours trying to get my computer to recognize the loader. Make sure your yellow loop is cut at the top of the box and then try the safety switch in both positions. I did a hard reset on my box several times and eventually got it going. Some guys have also said that they had to hit the lock button during on the remote during the programming of the box in the truck. I thought I'd read somewhere that the toggle switch needed to be off. I flipped mine to on after about a dozen trys, and it worked the first time.

im in canada, our pricing isn't that good. plus i dont really want to be paying an annual fee either.

either way, i'll be making my mind tomorrow when they open. but i'm leaning to the viper system, pro install, lifetime warranty.

So I just got my new remote start kit from doug… its the new kit that requires flashing before and after install. And of course it comes with the T-harness and this is for my 2014 express CC.

Couple of questions… I don't use window base computers in my house so I have no way to flash the XL loader… my fathers old ass window computers (windows XP) can not be upgraded to the new IE browser so now I have to drive 20min to my brothers and see if it can be done. I think its stupid that they use hardware that requires specific old tech and is limited (should be compatable for all platforms) hell even chrome or something.

The instructions seem so jumbled tho and hard to understand slightly. The wiring harness shows the ADL port being used by the connector on the Tharness but Im not sure (haven't looked at my truck yet… does it plug into the back of the ADL port? like thats why there are male/female ADL ports on the T harness?

Never mind, got it installed. Seems to work good but if I click the lock button too quickly it won't remote start.

I also haven't tested but it does kill the remote start if the door is opened after starting. Anyone else know if it will shut off if brake I'd applied? Can the key be inserted and set to run (and continue to run) during the remote start? Or does it have to be shUT off and restarted with the key?

My instructions stated the override switch needed to be ON.

Hi everyone i read through many pages looking for the best way to install a remote system.
i have a ram 1500 2012, looks like the dball doesnt support the 3X lock anymore. Would there be any other options available? I have a VIPER 4103 1WAY brand new in the box, would i need to purchase a dball to make the viper system work? Would it be a complicated procedure too install like splicing wire and cutting wires?
