Thinking of using some SRT-10 parts on my ‘03 5.7 SLT. Specifically, the exhaust, 48RE trans and Dana 60 rear. Will these direct replace or will they not work on my SLT? Any help appreciated!

Transmission won’t work, I’ve seen some people use the axle but I don’t know what’s all different. It should have 4.56 gears I believe so if you have a 4wd Hemi you need to change the front gears out too

LOL here I be

There are parts you can use, of the ones you have listed: forget the 48RE, it will not integrate with your PCI bus nor bolt to the engine. The exhaust would have to be adapted, honestly not worth the effort, depending on how much of it you're trying to use. Catback maybe if you're just digging on the two pipes out the back. Easier to use something designed for your truck. Closest thing on your short list to a bolt in is the Dana, HOWEVER...has to be from a quad cab. Reg cab D60's are undersprung. QC D60 will bolt right up to your leaf springs, as well as the brake lines, etc. Hiccups here: will need custom rear driveshaft to mate your t-case output and the large pinion yoke on the Dana; your stock rear brakes will not bolt to the backing plates and if you use the stock SRT rears they will be bigger than your stock 1500 front brakes lol; since you have a 4wd you will have to swap your front diff to a 4.56 gear set as well.

thanks so much! Seems like i might be better off not bothering! i thought i might be able to use some pieces to beef up the towing capacity of my SLT, but i'll leave that for another time. Thanks so much for the input. The front desk was right to page the specialist!

What exactly is the benefit of switching to the Dana 60? Is it internally stronger then the 9.25? I understand if it was just for the factory 4.56’s, because doing gears flat out sucks.

Legally you can't really...change your towing capacity. The gears do help yes, big difference going from 3.92's to 4.56's with towing. My truck yanks things around much easier due to better mechanical advantage, not to mention the whole faster acceleration thing lol. Even if you were to change the gearing in your stock rear diff, you'd still have to do it to the front one anyway. One thing I can suggest as an upgrade if you can find a set of spindles is using the 04 SRT front brakes. They're large 2 piston sliders on a 15" rotor (this only works if you have minimum factory spec 20" rims). Won't be quite the mismatch that the later larger 4 piston fixed calipers on the same rotor would be vs your stock rear 1 piston calipers.

Stronger yes, for the most part it's identical to every other D60 ever made (9-3/4" ring gear, just like 426 hemi musclecars got back in the day) with one very glaring exception. SRT D60's aren't full floaters, they have C clips like a 9-1/4". I think this was a cost saving measure. As long as you aren't trying to autocross with it it seems to be fine; they seem to hold up to supercharged V10's pretty well lol. For me, I had already done the front brakes, my stock rear diff was heading down the dreaded spring clip self destruction path and I wanted better gearing anyway. It was a no brainer for me. Only part that sucked was getting it installed then having to wait for my custom driveshaft to show up lol.
