So I installed noco power plug and pulled 110v to engine bay to power up battery maintainer and battery warmer and engine block heater with option to have them to be powered individually or all at once

Your post reminded me former international school exchange student is coming over for a visit. think next month.
She's been coming back, couple times a year now, for last decade or so.

She has an adorable little girl, who is starting to understand English. She is a doll.

I have been thinking about one of these, only problem is I haul my four wheeler back there every now and then. I guess I could just open the ladder, load the quad and then "close" the ladder up against the side of the quad with a bungee.

Quick pins on the hinge side. Makes it fast and easy to remove so you can load n unload the quad easy.

I love my truck!

Couple new additions and some more coming soon...

13” antenna: $12 and works great

10 feet of red trim: $8 but a little tricky to find the right spot to wedge it in.

Eventually gonna rebadge the entire truck.

It looks that the short antenna will not fit?
I've tested a shorter one and i cant screw it in very good.

Are there any short antennas at amazon.com which are fits perfect?

Whats the experience with shorter antennas?
Signal lost?

Greetings

Signal will degrade with the length of the antenna...shorter = degraded signal.

Thanks for the fast answer.
Alternative in Germany will be a new headunit with an antennasplitter for using DAB without an window antenna.

Just have to get the right size screw. My antenna came with different screws. I used a vice grip wrench to make sure it’s secure. I don’t notice any difference in quality at all. Good buy.

Don't spend money on a short antenna. You can easily cut the OEM one down to any length you like. Paint it also if you like or cover it with heart shrink tube. Free to do this ...…….. I cut 8" inches off mine.

There are many folks here that have done this.

Heat shrink? Why didn't I think of that?

The stubby antenna debate... lol.

I ordered a stubby antenna on eBay. Threaded portion seemed a little loose, so I picked up some 1/4 threaded rod from Depot and cut it down to size. Threaded it onto the antenna and onto the base. Reception was TERRIBLE!!! Only picked anything up if I touched the antenna with my hand. I requested a return so I got my money back. I then cut down my factory antenna yesterday and put it back on, reception has suffered but is not as bad as the stubby was.

Luckily, I hardly ever use FM radio, so I'm ok with it.

Quick question, does the ball end on the antenna unscrew or is it soldered/welded on?

Its kind of just pressed on. I used a set of vice grips on the antenna mast in a section that was being cut off, then a regular set of pliers to grab hold of the ball. Scuffed the ball up a little, but it came off with a few twists. Biggest issue is getting it back on after cutting mast. The end of mast is a perfect circle there the rest of the mast has that small spline section that twists around it. Filed the cut tip down a little so that the ball would press on.

Since XM Satellite Radio had come online and in our vehicles, I have not listened to an AM or FM radio station. I can find anything I want and yes, in my humble opinion, I feel the cost is justified, especially as much time I spend driving my truck and my love of music. There are 10 different channels that I consistently listen to depending on my mood, and if I want something else I have a USB jump drive with 498 songs out of my collection of several thousand, plugged into the USB that feeds into the radio. So the issue of having an antenna that does not provide reception is a moot point for me. As a matter of fact I have been thinking about removing mine completely and screwing a short threaded nub over it to protect the threads. I will keep the antenna behind the seat, just in case I would for some off the wall reason need to tune into an AM/FM station. Honestly I miss the days when the antenna was imbedded in the windshield.
