I figured there was something different about the ac in my new pickup when I saw that the tag didn’t say r134a.... had no idea that the filler ports were different either. One more thing that makes me glad I got the lifetime warranty.....that’s crazy you can’t even diy your ac anymore.

Learn new things daily, didn't know they changed. Kinda happy my 13 has the older 134a, never recharged and still ice cold.

I'm sure there are or will be adaptors.

The new refrigerant prices for the 1234Y freon I have seen are $640.00 and up for 10 lbs, so doubt the aftermarket is there yet...

Your A/C shouldn’t need to be topped up. If it was noticeably low it’s probably got a leak. Most likely that plug on the bottom of the condenser.

It's never worked the same after I had it evacuated and then recharged when I did the cam Dan.I kinda of blame Airdrie ,as i'm not sure I ever got all my refrigerant back at the time.It was ice cold till they got at it,then afterwards was only moderately cold, lol.

My '17 Ram's A/C doesn't blow cold like it did when it was new-June '17. The only time I use it is for the wife, she like a/c I don't. I'm going to take it to the dealer tomorrow to have them look at it and maybe rectify the problem. It's very frustrating. I have recharged 1234yf on the newer Honda's and they have blown ice cold but when I re-did mine it never changed the temperature at all. Something's amiss I think.......

The a/c in my 2500 C/C don't get super cold either. It takes a long time to get cool. Never gets "cold" in the truck especially if its over 90° outside. 100° forget it.

(((avoid scotty kilmer like the plague)))

I’ve seen him recommend a few questionable things That could get people killed. He may make some good points every now and then but ya he should be avoided at all costs.

He’s the equivalent of the old guy stuck in his ways yelling at his TV about how things used to be and anyone that doesn’t buy a 10yr old Toyota is an idiot.

You said exactly what i was thinking.. i remember when he recommended using fittings or something like that for brake jobs that specifically said they can’t be used for brakes bc of the heat, but his mindless drone supporters don’t seem to care.

I’ve noticed (going on a quick rant) that he constantly ******* about Chrysler vehicles but he never fixes them on his channel? I see one or two maybe every year or so....but he says they’re unreliable? Just another one of his thousands of lies that’ll get you killed...not to mention, his Celica has had 200K on it for how long?

That was the exact thing I was thinking of. It even said right on the package not for brake systems.

The worst part is people that don’t know any better end up taking his advice and regurgitating all the nonsense he promotes.

Well my ac sucks. I know a few people that have newer mopar.... theirs suck too.

I cant wait to see what hacks people do.
Example, i ran canned air instead if r12.
Worked like a dream.

I know people who used to experiment with using propane in their R12 systems. Blew cold enough to start frosting the vents. Obviously it’s not the safest thing to use lol.

i looked into it some more, and the best I can find is $35 a can on ebay. I cant get cold air and am going to have someone check it out that says they can read codes. I didnt know there were codes for ac. My compressor is working initially, and the pressures are ok. I saw another comment about the power quitting after a couple cycles and am thinking about running a hot wire to the compressor to test. Also may be cheaper to go to r134 after a flush and replace compressor if it kills it. Or just pull the system out of an older truck so mine works. This pickup has so many issues at 64,000 miles
