Think that was added later so no idea what it might be for. Maybe an extra power supply for something? Check it with a test light or voltmeter to see if it has power with key on, key off, in reverse, lights on. Just see what it does.

My guess would be, the previous owner probably had some type of aftermarket lights that would’ve plugged in to that connector [emoji848][emoji2369]
