Are they functional?

Oh yes. I read another thread where someone with the same hood had the latch fail and it blew off so no chances here. These are proof of concept set up to see what was needed.

You got to tell me what you used and how to install. I have been looking for hood pins for some time but can never find a set made for the Ram.

I used hood pin extensions to get 6 inches of total height I needed. The ones i used are probably overkill but any combo of pin and extension to get the 6 inches is good. I used the holes next to the bump-stops on the radiator rail. There is a tab inside that you can break off so the washers lay flat. (use thick ones) The taller extensions are harder to line up but beefier in my opinion (Just my .02) The only thing I strongly suggest is use large striker plates for the top of the hood to spread the load and steel pins not aluminium. (again just my .02)

Is this the extension you used? Also how long is the extension? Looks like there are a few sizes to choose form.

That is the one. You can go shorter with a 5 inch pin but I wanted extra strength. That one is also 1/2 x 20 which matched the Moroso pins # 39020 and are NASCAR approved so they are tough, I never had a failure. As long as you add up to at least 6 to 6.5 inches total length it will work Depending on your hood. Start long and trim down.

Price for gas this afternoon just east of Vancouver BC was $1.39 per litre ($5.25 per gallon) so $4.25 per gallon ( $1.12 per litre) would be considered a hell of a deal. In the morning it was around $6.00 per gallon or 1.59 per litre.

By the time your BC NDP propped up by the Green Party provincial government is done it should be around $3.00/liter or $11.35/gallon.

They would prefer you rode a bicycle.
